Yea I feel like they could have come up with a lot of ideas for Venture that fits the archaeology thing and retains the identity.
I’m thinking a golem, earth elemental, sandworm. But they could have also made Venture an undertaker or crypt guardian. How the hell does Blizz miss such easy wins?

Ye the Widow choice does not make sense. Unless they say Widow dabbled in magic when she was younger. But there are more magical heroes than a sniper Witch as stated in OP.
