I have a lot of playtime on lifeweaver, a good winrate in spite of the fact that I’ve mained him since his launch and he’s only been in a good state for a few weeks, and Eskay had very similar ideas for him to mine for the creator patch. So yes. I do think I have some advanced understanding of his kit and its potential.
Never once suggested anything in the same realm as this.
Why? People beef with the fact that two of Lifeweaver’s skills are auto aim. So are two of Zen’s. It’s a perfectly comparable situation.
I also don’t want lifeweaver to be a healbot. It’s better for his viability that he isn’t and that he contributes more damage. So what’s your point.
So what. Platform is just as often used for slept allies as grip, and platform has more difficult aim requirements than anything in Zen’s kit. So, again, what’s your point? Two supports do two different things. Doesn’t make their kits not comparable.
People consider lifeweaver low skill because they want him to be a healbot but won’t accept buffs or changes that would allow him wiggle room to be different
The new Armor really hurts Lifeweaver’s damage. I still dream of when Armor was 30% dmg reduction, lol.
Honestly, they should make Armor either 25% or even 20% dmg reduction, but adjust heroes effected appropriately. The problem with Armor when it’s really strong is that if the Supports keep healing the Armor Health, then the game comes to a stalemate.
Yeah. I don’t even think the tank buff against the dps passive fully offsets this for Lifeweaver—the patch may have slightly net nerfed him. I think Lifeweaver felt better this season before this patch.
It’s like you guys don’t actually read what people type.
How is Lucio/Moira/Kiriko/Mercy a good example for a Tracer that is in their backline?
Lucio/Moira has to be close, which puts them in danger. Kiriko’s has actual travel time and can’t go through walls which would force her to teleport. Congrats, you are now stuck for 8 seconds.
Mercy can fly to the Tracer to help her, but her healing range is 15 meters. The only decent example you gave was Brig.
But you’re right, it’s not just auto aim burst, it’s also the 40yd range.
You saw the words “Auto aim” and stopped thinking about everything else. It is not perfectly comparable when they they do completely different things.
Like stop for a second and think why people have an issue with Grip and not with Zenyatta heal orb(Even though they are both auto aim abilities that heal).
The point is that Blizzard is apprehensive about giving them buffs. And they already explained why, and people are still expecting buffs from him and making topics about it.
“But his heal has travel time”
“But he is not the only one with auto healing”
“But his heal has to reload”
“But other characters heal more”
You can make a list like this for every support. You had Kiriko players who were claiming the character was ruined from the suzu nerfs.
You don’t want him to be a healbot but his current kit pushes him to be one. Even if he got the Swap speed buffs, he still won’t have a fluid playstyle like Bap/Kiri/Ana. Which is why I said he needs to be reworked.
You completely missed the part where I said the comps matter and can be equally as oppressive didn’t you…
If there playing a comp that plays into weavers strength of course hes gonna be good, otherwise hes just another support and when he’s “Just another support” people get more value in there worst situations then he gets in his best.
And on a final note, it is dumb to bring up Zenyatta and make the argument “He has two auto aim abilities. Where is the beef with him?”
People kept complaining for months and months about discord orb for that exact same reason. Thats why it got nerfed.
And you completely missed the point where I specifically brought up tracer in that scenario because of the dev team.
Every character can be oppresive in the right circumstances/map/mode/comp. Brig has one of the highest winrates, but also has one of the lowest pickrates.
Should she be buffed because she struggles in certain maps/points/comps?
There are situations where she is probably one of the worst supports to pick(Like far away poke vs poke)
There are also situations where she is an phenomenal pick. Just like Lifeweaver.
Yeah I’m sure that Ana against a coordinated heavy dive comp is much better than Lifeweaver at his best >.>
I don’t think they’ll balance him in a way that’s good because they don’t want stop him from having a healbot play style. Which makes no sense because they directly punished the play style.
