Let's predict the entirety of year 3 of Overwatch

I’ve been wanting to do something like this for overwatch but I started playing shortly before last years anniversary and I didn’t know much about it back then, but now I’ve experienced a full years worth of it, so I’m gonna give it a go. Let’s see if I get anything right:

JUNE:

  • Hanzo gets nerfed
  • Symmetra 3.0 is put onto the ptr for testing
  • Reinhardt gets long awaited bug fixes due to his popularity in the current meta
  • A small UI update is added to the game

JULY:

  • Jeff makes a new dev update video talking about upcoming social systems of some kind, and Symmetra 3.0
  • Symmetra 3.0 is pushed to the live server
  • Season 11 begins bringing no apparent changes to the system with it

AUGUST:

  • 2 new social systems are integrated into the game
  • Summer games 2018, this time with Pharah Basketball
  • Pharah, Reinhardt, Doomfist, Genji, and D.va all get new legendary skins
  • Hanzo is nerfed again, perhaps more than necessary
  • A new hero is teased

SEPTEMBER:

  • A new map based in Africa is teased
  • A new comic is released as part of the buildup to a new hero
  • A new anti-deathball support is added with the ability to grant allies barrier piercing power
  • Avoid as teammate slots are increased to 4 per player

OCTOBER:

  • Widowmaker gets nerfed due to her obscene synergy with the new support hero, the forums go nuts
  • Sombra finally gets a very small buff as she is Blizzards solution to counter the new support hero
  • Halloween Terror, return of Junkensteins revenge and Junks endless, Junkenstein part 2, the story of the reaper. A prequel to the junkenstein story
  • Moira, Widowmaker, Sombra, Winston, and Tracer get new legendaries
  • Season 12 begins with no rule changes

NOVEMBER:

  • Jeff kaplan creates a new meme
  • Symmetra gets a new cinematic telling the story of Vishkar vs Lucio, and Symmetra begins to realize perhaps she’s not as justified as she’s been lead to believe
  • Zarya gets a nerf seemingly from nowhere
  • A new hero is teased
  • Torbjorns rework is teased

DECEMBER:

  • A new deathmatch map is added, mount everest
  • Winter Wonderland events new main attraction, Everest Deathmatch
  • Reaper, Moira, Soldier, ADB-support, and Lucio get new legendary skins
  • Torb 2.0 is pushed to PTR
  • We get a new lore comic focusing on Doomfist and his predecessors

JANUARY:

  • The arcade and Quick Play get some updates
  • A new copycat-style defense hero is added who can take abilities from enemies and use them for themself, including the ability to Rez
  • Torbjorns rework is pushed to live servers
  • Season 13 begins, punishment for leavers has been ramped up significantly, Blizzard also begins punishing false reporting more harshly

FEBRUARY:

  • A new hero is teased so subtley that literally nobody catches on until later
  • A new 2cp map, Vishkar headquarters, is added to the game
  • Lunar New Year event
  • Brigitte, Orisa, Hanzo, Zarya, and Ana get new legendary skin
  • Devs tease a hero rework that a lot of us have been waiting for

MARCH:

  • The new hero is properly teased, and we all understand the old tease
  • Mercy 3.0 rework gets leaked by accident, Mercy players r e j o i c e
  • Not much else happens this month

APRIL:

  • Season 13 begins, Rank receives some kind of overhaul
  • A new main tank is added with the gimmick of having Barrier HP that does not grant enemies ult charge, but also cannot be healed. The hero is immediately learned to be straight F tier garbage
  • Mercy 3.0 continues to be teased but with no info

YEAR 4!

So what do you think? this is all based on Blizzards overwatch update history and also totally wild guesses

I think about 5% of that has a possibility of happening. You left out about 4 minutes of lore being released as well.

I really like this, especially how you predicted that not a lot would change for the better with Competitive, I think right now that Blizzard is prioritizing fun for the game in the form of events and skins and new modes rather than trying to fix the modes they already have. It seems that Blizzard wants a more fun game rather than a competitive one, which if that is the direction they want to go in, that is fine with me, just remove the competitive mode if you are not going to give it the attention it needs in my opinion.

Your are wrong about the new Hero tease in August the new Hero will to 99.9% teased on end-June - first week of July because every new Hero will be revealed in 4 months

Your optimism is incredible because i’m 100% sure almost none of the positive things you mentioned will ever happen.

Ok, Jeff Kaplan making a meme is a positive that WILL happen, so there’s that.

stop doing it, because if you guessed even one thing, blizzard will change it so it doesnt appear that community knows everything , youre literally just slowing down overwatch development, i’m not joking, not one bit
