i gave an example as to how you could already do that. I dont have proof of my experience, but the vods speak for themselves.
Every 7 wins you’re allowed to see your rank. Or every 20 losses you’re allowed to see your rank.
Your rank is always changing. After a win, you gain rank. After a loss you lose rank. You are just not allowed to see it until you win 7 or lose 20. I would prefer to see it after every game, not some arbitrary win/loss number. It’s so carebear and I hate it.

really? you think that. because i find that throughts are larger. paragraphs tell ideas. responding to a part of a thought is the same is not responding to the thought. some thoughts need more than a sentence. but my guess is you wont read past the “you think that” as it is the end of the sentence, while not the end of the thought.
you gave 2 examples, 1 was a t500 player being calibrated, which happened quickly regardless as first calibration is really fast with wide swings. the 2nd was lacking any context. you didnt say if you were on a winstreak, is this a new account or one you played on for years, nothing, nada. i dont need proof, i am willing to take your word for it, but not without context.
i would give you the benefit of the doubt if you gave actual context to back up what you say matters. but you wont even accept my 15-35 range because “no, it didnt”. what a great insightful response that makes no contribution and stops the conversation. this kind of response i would expect from a 5 year old.
you want to state your opinion go ahead. you want to contest someone elses opinion back it up with context and some thought not “no, it didnt”.
wow great solution. I like the idea. I think blizzard should just give everyone the option to toggle all kinds of “safety” features for sensitive players. They gave people private profiles because people complained about getting flamed for “X” reasons on their profiles (hours played / win rates / etc). Then they disguised our SR and completely removed emblems / being on fire (people used that to flame eachother … good players on fire) and ANYTHING else people might be able to use to flame eachother…
Can we just have toggles for everything? Sensitive boys can toggle everything to private and they can mute themselves and leave voice chat and turn off text chatting. They can even opt to have blizzard award them fake emblems, or even better buy them from the cash shop! That way their feelings can never be hurt and they can be a GM1 in their private profile and they can stomp around in low bronze.
The rest of us adults can go back to playing a normal game in the elo we know we deserve, be it bronze, plat, or gm, and most of us will continue to have normal days and not take to heart some kid flaming us over their headset and stinky gaming chair.
I think get rid of the 7 wins system all together. This feels awful. I hate it so much. I hate having to play sooo many games to see my rank change and then if it stays the same it feels awful, like it was all for nothing. It feels awful
Are you really trying to claim that how the system visually interacts with a player does not affect how it feels to that player?

You’re right. My example didn’t have much context. it was also anecdotal which means even with context, I could have just made it up. Why would I go out of my way to give context to something most people wouldn’t believe anyway?

the system as a whole it does. the system that puts you back in your rank has nothing to do with it.

because if you dont put context than it isnt worth thinking about. as it stands your examples are less than anecdotal they have no relation to the topic.
either counter the claim, or realize that while not 100% accurate it is an approximation. as i said i could not find the numbers for this. and it did vary a decent amount. for reference of why i think it is relatively accurate, in games above diamond you got 25sr for win and lost 25sr for loss outside of streaks. as such a +/- 10 variance is not unreasonable for skill based sr.
it is rather amazing how you dont realize that a new paragraph means a new thought. the last paragraph is a general statement about your inability to give any opinion other than “no, it didnt”. and btw yes the 15-35 is an opinion as we do not have hard numbers. it is a guess and was introduced as such. you didn’t contest the range, you contested its existence. if you think the range was narrower go ahead. but a narrower range helps my case more.
