Let us see status of sent reports

As a part of this positive community and in attempt to make it more positive I’d like to see status of the reports I sent.
I would expect these:

  • pending : sent but not processed yet
  • rejected
  • type of actions have been applied against reported player

Thank you Blizzard for this wonderful game!

Now that’s an interesting thought: imagine if we had in-game mailbox for this system. Of course, what we currently have is pretty much entirely automated, so assuming on the off-chance it was implemented to be an honest and truthful feedback messaging system, you better not feel too bad when using it, since the experience would very likely be something like:

  1. Send report.
  2. Instantly get two responses back
  3. First message says: “Auto moderator: Report status: PENDING”
  4. Second message says: “Auto moderator: Report status: REJECTED. We have reviewed your report and determined that no action was needed against this player. This decision is final and cannot be appealed. Thank you for your help keeping our community civil!”

The only reason the current system seems to take so long is because Blizzard adds delays to the thank you auto response, in the hopes that a few reports would have been received, obfuscating exactly which player your report had successfully actioned their account, likely so people wouldn’t try to game the system to bully other players. I wouldn’t be surprised if they even randomize the sending of the notification, to keep people guessing what was actioned or not to keep the community guessing on what tactics work or what is truly actionable versus what isn’t. Again, it’s all an arms race as Blizzard tries to keep ahead of toxic people trying to abuse their system.

It’d be a good idea to also have the text log that was reported included as well

It should have a list of reports sent and then perhaps gray out the box once a report was sent, and also have a “checks all that apply” with a bigger text box.

I’ve got some really important reports that have not lead to a “thanks for” message yet. Even though the person was clearly using a booster bot that is against ToA and SUPER obvious they were farming with it.

I would like this. Sometimes I log in to see that screen and I want to know that specific people were punished because they were much worse than others.

I don’t think it’s a good idea. People report over such frivolous things. They shouldn’t be getting status reports on the report they sent because someone picked Sym

Bruh, how clueless you are if still don’t get it. The system is automated, and its work based on thresholds. Hit the number of reports achieved and get actioned. Nobody watch them.

It’s not really how that works. They don’t check every report ever sent, that would be an absurd amount of work. It would take years for anyone to get banned.
It depends on how many reports one player got. And then it’s automatic, they don’t even check why someone might get banned, they’ll only check if the banned player goes and complains about it to the support.

Thanks for the clarification!

Edit: nonetheless some transparency will never hurt.
