Funny because JQ is easy to counter and Orisa has not even some team utility. As soon as people actually play to win instead of test new things out those two will not good anymore. Fun yes but not good.
This will change the game mostly. For both sides. It will take time until every one is at their place in OW2 (because they made no rank reset so it will take ages…).
Is this different in the current game tho? Not really.
So you are crying because:
Selfish fun tanks will be “broken” lol
Supports decide who wins and who loses (same in OW1)
On the bright side, you guys are all playing quickplay (those of you who’ve tried OW2). And considering how bad the matchmaking historically has been in OW1 quickplay, it’s no surprise that people are having low quality matches in OW2 quickplay.
I wouldn’t be surprised if OW2 becomes immensely more fun when ranked is finally available. Although they still need to do something about supports or else most will just gravitate towards playing tank or DPS instead. Fox girl can’t come soon enough.
I was hoping that they would do something about lack of solo carry potential for individual players when the games are unbalanced. But I guess they can only do so much since in the end, this game was designed to be team-reliant because of the trifecta (tank, dps, support).
So the only way this game will ever be enjoyable is if the matchmaker is constantly doing a proper job in making sure every games are balanced and fair on both sides.
I don’t play support, but I’ve heard that if the game keeps being like this you’ll have 15 min queues for the role.
Maybe then you’ll reconsider a role that never needed to heal, damage and assure it’s survival.
Funny because in every poll half like it- so they “are in denial” because they do not agree with those who don’t like it? I guess that makes sense
I really find it fascinating that people go into a beta, knowing it’s a beta, and then turn around and proclaim they know how the final game will look.
LOL JTQ was not doing well by the end once people learned all they had to do was move backwards and evade. On healbot supports, yeah there were many but they will drop down the ladder as that style will not work in OW 2, so that is fine. Junk players… well, let’s just remember that the Junker/Reaper refuse-to-swap crowd is made up of people with usually no aim and really don’t get the game in most cases. True in OW 1 too.
What are you talking about? OW2 is just going to be 1 big queue simulator because it’d be a true and honest miracle if they even retain new players, and got anyone who quit, to come back.*
Nobody wants to play this game, most people won’t even buy skins or the battle passes and all that, PvE won’t count towards Battle Passes either probably, they are sure to continue to make the worst mistakes imaginable.
I can’t imagine a returning player(likely a DPS main, likely one that plays Genji) at any elo good or bad, is not going to have any fun when they press Q and Moira lands that brain-dead skill orb onto him so that every swing he does is 35 damage only. And even with a Nano, it won’t kill anyone. So as a returning player, or a new one, an experience like this would absolutely make me alt f4 and uninstall the game and just go back to where ever I was spending money.
But wah wah DPS doing damage isn’t okay, it isn’t fair or fun when anyone presses Q and wipes my team. Oh well. That’s the nature of a PVP game, however, no one should be doing damage reductions so high that there isn’t a reason to even hold left click or move at that point.
*Just to add 1 final thing here, people who post on the forums, or people who are still playing or even streaming the game in any capacity, do not matter at all. We were all going to play OW2 anyways. We couldn’t even matter less. I know a few people who post here love to preach that they won’t play but the reality is that they will.
Never forget the forums are overly heavy with healbot Supports. This coming from someone who spends about 1/3 of their time on Support currently btw.
In OW2 Supports must watch the elim counts of the other team, and match them. This means actually getting elims and doing at least some damage, too many on here want to heal and nothing else. That won’t work in OW2 usually.
That is fine but I can’t find any fun as Moira or as the DPS who gets nailed by that orb. That’s my only true complaint with this, it just seems overly unfun. I was having more fun on Moira the Monday before the changes happened, managing an equal amount of healing/DPS or so and absolutely having a blast just playing her as anyone normally would on OW1 or OW2 at the time.
I also think what they’re doing with Mercy is ridiculous at this point too.
FWIW I am a ardent critic of the Moira kit as it stands, but I think she can be fixed. The orb in beta is not the right move I agree OTOH she was just too good for too little effort, and that has to change. People want utility; fine, but you cannot have it on an already strong kit, you have to give something up in return and a lot of Moira players just keep pressing the accelerator “more more” and that just isn’t how it is going to work.
The Mercy changes to date are horrible. All Mercy needs and will work in OW 2 is a bit faster movement on GA with no other changes to it, and in lieu of burst heal, drop the c/d on rez which Mercy mains love to do anyhow. This would be perfect.
PS: Lest you think I am just a “skill guy” note that I also ardently criticize both Hanzo and Tracer as well, hypermobility and it’s issues are why we even have Moira and Brig to start…
It’s not like the game was in a good state when it ended. They didn’t fix issues, and added more towards the end, then were like “that’s it, we’ve found the perfect state of the game - broken and unplayable for the benefit of the DPS crowd that clearly spends the most of loot crates”.
People are never happy with balance in OW, its a core issue. OTOH, it was overall in better shape than at most points in it’s past. OW 2 is very playable for Tanks, and when Supports decide to mix it up and do some damage, it works for them too. Again, you cannot play Supports in OW2 like OW1, you have to be conscious of the elim/damage output of the Supports on the other team and adjust to it. You cannot out-heal an elim’s impact.
Support players on these forums would argue that you should be able to out-heal six players shooting a single target. After all, if you can’t keep someone alive as a support, it “feels bad”, and why even play support if you can’t keep someone alive? Just play DPS 6head.
We can always choose to let you die instead, you know. As main cause of support dying is them not dropping your sorry self and continuing their efforts to keep you in fight.
Well, yes.
How else are you supposed to support someone, who is out of position, other than putting yourself in similar situation?
I honestly love, that supports can not win. If they stay in safe spot, they get “why aren’t you supporting me”, if they do not, they get “why are you always dying”.
So, supports will pick different roles, where they do not have to “mix up” and do more stuff, than other roles.
He’s talking about Zens that are off in Narnia trying to take duels with both DPS, who then complain that the team isn’t helping them with flankers. Like, buddy, you’re the flanker, nobody can come help you.
Nope, supports are perfect angels who never make mistakes.
all roles makes plenty of mistakes but even as DPS I have to say the amount of support hate of “they need to get good” since Ow2 beta has hit higher than normal levels. Everything is not whining, some of these are legit concerns. We have to stop with blanketing the support crowd as one hive mind and then calling the idea someone of support that we don’t like as “the one grand support argument”
We need to get to a state where all roles feel good, and from that roles perspective. Feeling good DPS from a tank perspective, nah. Feeling good DPS from a support perspective nah, Feeling good Tank from a DPS nah, etc.
These forums lack empathy
and reaper buffs.
Also OW2 has strong potential, we just need to get a few things adjusted.
