a legit rocket jump for bastion would be nice and maybe faster rocket fire
You continue to use the wrong pronoun on purpose now.
You’re obviously just an insecure kid or something. You’re digging yourself into a deeper hole. Just stop.
From your description, it sounds like the same bug that Moira’s succ and Sym’s primary has. I wonder if Blizzard went through and changed all of these abilities with weird startup animations when they “fixed” Sym’s primary because they found that you could exploit them the same way?
Oh I thought you meant the damage rate was comparable to Pharah’s rockets.
That would be the case with a 205 damage rocket every 1.2 sec
Dealing only 120 damage every 1.2 sec is such pathetic damage, also with such a low attack speed if you rocket jump to shoot from altitude you will have fallen back down to ground level after 1.2 sec.
Whenever “rework” gets thrown in, I check out. Blizzard has yet to successfully rework any characters.
Closest is torb, but that just made him worse on defense and still not good on attack, so it didnt quite work out the way they hoped.
One day, Disco. A broken clock is right twice a day and Blizzard has yet to do it correctly. A success is incoming. I just know it!
i honestly would just base a rework on HK206 from Gigantic. That’s how a bastion type character should play.
For those who don’t know, the turret form is supposed to be a situational ability and not the main point of his kit and he has a lot of weapons to compensate like mortars and railguns on top of the machinegun.
HK206 is basically a non stop hail of bullets
now that would be cool. For now I would like faster mode change and to have recon mode be as strong an option as sentry mode.
for more context, HK turret mode is very fast and grants him a shield, but when he gets out it has a cooldown.
Outside of his main gun he also has a chargeable rail gun (imagine hanzo’s bow) and a mortar to for some aoe damage. His ult was a barrage of heat seeking missiles.
Original D.va and Symmetra rework were successes. Lúcio first rework was more a shift in power, but it was very successful as well.
Hanzo, “Micromissile D.va”, and Torb were controversial, but mostly fine.
Symmetra 3.0, Infinite Stealth Sombra, and Brigitte 2.0 were at best divisive, at worst trashed the whole character concept.
I don’t know about Symm’s beam but I tested it using this method
- Go to practice range
- Select hero Genji
- Select McCree as “training partner”
- Hit McCree with exactly 8 shuriken which should reduce McCree to 1hp
- Switch to Symm
- Fire off every my ammo until only 1 ammo remains in Symm’s clip
- Shoot McCree.
The results are… interesting.
In 2/3 tests McCree dies but in the first test I’d shoot the 1 ammo and McCree would inexplicably still be alive but I couldn’t replicate this outcome.
Every other outcome 1HP McCree would die when being hit by damage of 1 ammo consumed from Symm’s primary fire.
Same results except no outlier for Moira.
So I’m not sure what phenomenon you’re referring to.
Keep an eye on your ammo gauge if you try to do the old stagger fire exploit. Moira doesn’t have “ammo”, but if you try to rapidly spam the anim cancel exploit you’ll see something even more interesting.
The control for this experiment is Zarya’s beam, which doesn’t have this bug.
That sounds really nice. Bastion with a shield would let him be more self reliant so he does not need a team to be formed around his play style. Maybe a shield that he cannot shoot through. It would be a physical shield and not a blue rectangle shield.
Dva is worse now with the missiles than before the rework. The original change was just to put DM on a meter instead of a cooldown, which I wouldnt consider a rework.
Sym rework successful? In which bizarro universe do you live in?
So, overwatch tracks partial numbers. It only rounds values on your UI, and it rounds everything up.
Because it’s a beam, sym is allowed to have “partial ammo”.
In your McCree example, he had less than one health left, but not zero.
How would switching Sentry with Tank mode ruined his identity?
He’s never going to be viable in current state - even Sym has higher chance being meta than him.
The Micromissile rework is listed on “controversial”, mostly because it didn’t “removed” anything from he, it was a compensation buff for lower DM max uptime. Yet, she was still used enough both in ladder and OWL for months after that.
Changing something from a 8s cooldown ability to a resource meter ability absolutely is a big change. It doesn’t matter if you consider that a rework or not, that’s what I was referring when I said it was successful, and going beyond that is just nitpicking.
I am a former Symmetra main. 2.0 improved all the most glaring flaws of Sym 1.0 while retaining her identity. You don’t need to trust me on this matter, just go through any random Symmetra thread that appear now and then and just see the amount of people that reminisce on her former “glory”.
You can argue about many aspects of Symmetra’s kit, but 2.0 was miles better than 1.0.
But what happens WITHOUT tapping fire?
Because the problem I’ve found with Bastion is not because of weird spamming self-repair button very fast but ordinary use. If you release self-repair in the first second it ignores the change in input.
Regardless of how you press self-repair, the first second of healing with self repair is inconsistent compared to the rest of the healing.
This would be like if you clicked left click on Symm and the first half second you did only 2 damage and the beam would stay on for a whole second if you just tapped it.
Assuming Genji’s damage truly is an integer, I wonder what precision the damage/health really is?
Do you think it’s tracked to 1 decimal place?
So the “ammo” I had left for Symm’s beam was so little it would do less than 1HP of damage to McCree? Even though it said 1 ammo.
I noticed in testing (when not recording) I could get symm’s ammo counter to say 0/70 but the weapon wasn’t auto-reloading and it could fire again and get a hitmarker on McCree. Which suggest it doesn’t always round up or something else weird is going on.
Hmm, the problem with 1.0 was giving all these 200HP heroes an extra 25HP was hugely unbalancing as that 200HP was a really important threshold…
COUGH McCree GOUGH
Yeah, but could give it no damage falloff, so it’s a full 120. Also about 2x the projectile speed.
But mostly it would just be a fun rocket jump ability that allows Bastion to sentry up in weird locations.
