Because she is the latest hero so Blizzard/Activison wants to milk her for all she’s got. Plain and simple greed my friend.

we do have a witch mercy already and she looks a lot like warlock ashe. there is SO MUCH japanese yokai to use or oni to she could be so…not sure why this.

I do think if she was going to be anything other than Japanese folklore she should have been made an alchemist instead of a witch cus it would make more sense cus of her offuda being a pot. They could have made it into a potion and her talismans be a recipient for it. Her Kumasi could be any style as long as it fit with the design

To lure mercy mains so they can go “yay we have matching witch skins. Can’t wait to see the victory screen with us together”. I do this but for Overwatch/Talon/Blackwatch uniforms. If I see at least one other person with matching blue OW, blackwatch or Talon uniform I emote next to them and take a screenshot or two:

You know what would have been a much better skin relative to her Japanese origins? And an epic skin at that. Just give her shrine maiden aesthetic an inverse. Tattered shrine maiden robe with staring thin vertical fox eyes and sharper teeth and all that crap. Make her have fox ears and everything. The dark side of fox spirits. Idk. Just there’s more potential in that. And as for a legendary skin, well people would probably complain about furry bait if they straight up made her an anthro fox for a skin. I would like a skin like that for her actually, but given how upset people were just having Hammond added to Overwatch at all and the stigma of furry bait; I don’t see her ever getting a skin like that. I’m almost surprised they let Bob get away with it. I guess because he’s an omnic and not a human.

It is one of the better skins so I give it a pass.
Not sure but wouldnt suprise me if they reused assets.
