like back in 1972 that stuff was very original, groundbreaking even. nowadays it feels like its more interesting if the vampire is not black for once. or is it just me?

??? Which black vampires do we have besides Blade?
Like, seriously, out of the vampires in recent media… there’s Dracula in DBD and Blade in Marvel Rivals but that’s… kinda it. Vampires typically are white, Blade and Doctrine are some of the only examples of black vampires that I can think of, outside of something like Vampire: the Masqeurade.

They put Blade in Rivals so now OW has to have Blade. There’s no originality in game design anymore it’s just trend chasing

TBH, with how Rivals treated Blade, I’m hoping this results in a lot of cosmetics for Doctrine, Blade was such a cool character and I hope Doctrine is the same

Racism ain’t new or ironic. If your comparison is 70s era comics, guess how many black writers were involved in those years?
Doomfist was obviously an early story link to the character. Their history was definitely more considered than any racial bias to older era norms in pop culture. Let us not forget that Blade was originally British, his movie portrayal is American, while Doctorine hails from Zimbabwe.

We have a ton of black vampires in the vtm games. There’s a lot out there. The games just aren’t as heavily publicized.
