Umm you are placed with people of similar skill so maybe you’re just bad
I also see it alot from 3100-3400 on ps4. So many players doing extremely dumb stuff that you expect in gold<
I say just remove the mmr system and march people based on SR alone only (like they are suspose to do in diamond+ games) that would get rid of some of the crap match making. As for casual or serous players…i consider myself casual but when i play comp i play to win but i play my best on what ever hero i play honestly i ignore meta cuz i play the hero im good with and that counters the enemy the best that i personaly can. The only reason they are meta is cuz they are over powered right now and will soon get a nerf so why get good with that? But that is MY view. I also only play comp cuz in qp they dont have the same rules for victory and people mess around a lot more in qp…that and the matchmaking is BS in qp…im plat dps gold tank/heals…but yet i get put against GMs frequently in qp im not sure why besides me having a plat boarder is the only reasoning i can think of. (I personly dont mind cuz i sometimes get to stomp on said GMs and its a good way for me to test myself…but would never want to do it in comp.

Join servers that do PUGs or you know…join a team?
Better yourself and you’ll eventually get better teammates.
Rather than have a negative outlook on other players, take time to improve yourself and your own personal attitude and outlook towards the game.
Some of the issue is that people are inconsistent themselves. One night they could be try Harding and go up up up and another night they could group with low ranked friends and be drinking or high and end up tanking their rating. They arnt really that bad but they are having a causal night…If you get the unlucky draw and get grouped with them on the way down then that sucks but there isn’t really anything blizz can do about this. Maybe you have to take a breathalyzer test before you que up Lol
So only kids with no life and no responsibilities can join your little comp club?

Been saying this same thing for a long time. SR at this point is so skewed at this time it’s unrealistic. I think if Blizzard wants to call their numbers statistics it should follow some basic statistical methods, like removing the outliers ( in this case the top and bottom 8% or so. ) That would remove the trolls, throwers, hackers, smurfs from the SR evaluations and people would more naturally flow into their proper ranks.

Casual = players who only play for fun and not competition.
Competitive = players who actively play together and solely to win.

i understand the difference between the two. but the op said casuals should be banned from competitive. so that means only professionals or people actively trying to become professional can play comp? or you have to “play as a group and and only play to win”
and what almighty power determines if you’re just playing with friends for fun vs. playing with friends to win? or even solo for fun vs. solo to win?

When I go to a basketball court, I’m going to play hard. I want to win.
I used to go once a month, now I barely ever go, but if and when I do you can bet that I’m going to be competitive about it.
Quick game is like shooting around, playing horse, 3v3… it’s not the same feel as running full court 5 on 5.

Because this is a game where you can’t really carry as 2/3 of the roles available and a single player has tremendous impact on the outcome of a match.
So you’re a control freak then all then…you can if you try. See unranked to gm vids…loads of em prove counter to your argument.
Weakness of control freak arguments is it takes responsibility for performance from the control freak and puts it on something he cannot control.
How do you expect to improve .blaming others exactly?
So, what about streamers and you tubers? They don’t play nice with anyone. Just watch Twitch streamers for more than 3 minutes and they’ll be screaming about everyone and the milk man. How about we just give a hard ban to narcissist and psychopaths?

Yeah that’s definitely not true. The system doesn’t work as well as Blizzard thinks it does, because they keep making strict metas. When a meta is strict, one person playing off meta makes the game significantly harder to win. This takes some control out of the hands of the individual.
Not necessarily. Because if they’re throwing in a “smart” way, they’ll still do stuff, they’ll just do all the wrong stuff.
One quick example, a Zen or Lucio or Ana could be throwing simply by not using one of their abilities.
They’re still contributing data even if that data is “this person got 20 sleeps this game…” avg number of sleeps per game is now shifted.
Afk throwing rarely happens because they would get reported/banned because of the obviousness.
I once had a deranking smurf in a game look like they were legit playing by focusing me (a pharah) but was actually deranking. I know because during the game they sent me a friend request and told me to stop flying close to them because I was making their shots too easy to hit.
smurfs and alts are two different things smurfs are not in bronze gold and plat in there roles that they are actaully good in. all the real smurfs are in diamond and up. but there is a lot of alt diamonds that cant get to masters so they play on alt accounts to get so called practice.
real smurf have 3 4 accounts and they are all masters and up. some got like 3 to 4 accounts in gm
