Kanezaka the worst map by far

its way better than petra any day and is the best looking deathmatch map.

I don’t like it either. It’s super cramped and awkward to play on.

Paris :tokyo_tower::tokyo_tower::baguette_bread::fr: is typing…

beautiful =/= fun to play on

I don’t agree, because there’s so much geometry to hide behind that you can just pop out and gank people with 120 damage directs without being sniped constantly. There’s also so much close quarters geometry that you can use conc jumping to move around much more quickly than most of the other maps.

The map is actually really well balanced for both close quarters heroes and sniper-type heroes, which is wild considering how cramped it appears at first blush. I like it more than any of the FFA maps except King’s Row, which is also a well balanced map that allows a large variety of heroes to flourish.

I don’t know, it feels pretty good to me. I’m no expert, but it seems to me like the layout benefits a much larger variety of characters than usual. For one, my Brigitte has actually been feeling MUCH more threatening there. It’s awesome :sparkles:

And I’m not sure if it’s just because it’s new, but I’ve run into quite a few happy chats there. It’s so fun when everyone’s clearly having a good time

Also… the cat cafĆ©. :cat: :+1:

Try playing Zarya on Kanezaka. A FFA map where you can actually stay competitive without being clowned on…

Lol is this not just the blatant truth? I’ve been pushed down from 1st to like 5th because I’ve spent about two minutes running around the map looking for someone to fight.

How could you ever hate a map with a cat cafe?

It’s pretty fun as McCree.

Kanezaka is beautiful. I spent some time on a private match just to explore the details and I loved it. I wish they made a Push/Payload version out of this (Similar how there are Team deatmatch versions of Dorado/Eichenwalde).

Also, I found the map to be super fun and good for mid-close range heroes. The narrow streets is kind of the appeal from the stage. I understand that if you are a main Ashe/Widow you might not like this one.

Kanezaka > Chateau Gillard >>>> Petra

Whoever made chateau is the prodigy.
It has a section for any hero, a high enough sky ceiling, easily used/avoided environmental kill areas, enclosed spaces, open spaces, high interconnectivity but not too much and so on.

It’s literally perfection while kanezaka… is not.

It enables a few heroes far too much and punishes others far too much as well.

E.G pharah should not be played there, the sky ceiling is insanely low.

Widow: there’s some areas where she’s got medium length sidelines, but almost none where she has a reliable escape or perch of any kind.

Since her escape is on a 12 second cooldown any other hero with much lower cooldown movement has an insane advantage, even ignoring the fact that most of the map is close quarters and a wall everywhere for doomfist to punch you into.

This was my gripe in Comp FFA, you’d literally miss your chance of getting top 4 from bad spawns and not being able to find anyone

Totally agree. Too cramped. Feels like a call of duty map done in the style of overwatch.

I don’t think it’s much different from chateau in that regard.
