Im sorry, but you are talking to a person who abused Goats through all of its history. And i can tell you, Goats was just about convincing randoms to swallow their pride, and pick the needed heroes to win because we were inferior to the enemies in just about everything skillwise and teamworkwise.
The rest was just pressing W to points.
It was slow, and methodical, nothing about it was brute force. It was a bruiser comp 99% of the players couldnât adapt to, so people just lazily picked mirror to challenge it. It had the potential to win fast, but that wasnât itâs intention. Rush and dive though, where as CoD as you could get.
The only comp that could make a beeline to point against Bastionâs direct fire is the very definition of bruce forcing.
If you didnt mirror the comp, nothing really stopped Goats from just pressing W to win, nothing needs to be methodical about it.
The one where Echo and Tracer are good.
The first few months of the game that people really were just figuring it out and playing what felt fun and not trying to make this perfect team full of strangers in QP.
Season 3 triple/quad tank, back then support was the least liked role so you could often get one person to play Ana, the DPS instalock plays Soldier or whatever and the others had a variety of tanks to choose from. Last player doubled up on whatever.
Bastion still straight up offers the highest damage per second among DPS roster. And Goats could brush it off like nothing.
Other Comps require players to be good at their heroes (except double barrier), so your average joes would more likely to fail even with Meta comp. Goats required the least from its members, just bare minimum so even a bad team could take advantage of it.
So cheese damage didnât work against it, donât see a problem with that.
Getting six randos to cooperate is a skill to. If this was a twitch shooter, goats would be unacceptable, but it isnât.
If the cheesiest damage couldnt even work against it, it mean nothing else could.
And while you think goats needs some god tier teamwork with 6 randoms, to me all it took was just randoms playing basic heroes to their basic level and let the broken synergies do its own magic.
Thatâs why it was fun. I didnât have to rely on my own skill with five dead weight team mates. In goats I didnât have to carry, or lose. Being the best player on my team didnât matter, and I loved it.
