Just deleted OW2

If it doesn’t last I’ll be sad because it’s what I’ve wanted from a P game since Arceus came out.

I could have swore you’ve been saying for years that OW has been uninstalled for you

like in counterstrike i had these crates from sometime back, just sold them in the market and bought myself some nice stuff and actual games, i dont even play it much nowadays.

Like EPIC and Valve are profitable even greedy too but they also dont try to squeeze money from your wallet for everything.

Actually no, quite a few lawyers through their hat in their ring.

The monsters themselves even tho they definitely look like pokemon, are still original in the sense they’re not 1 to 1 recreations of pokemon. Art style and concepts are not copyrightable.

Doubly so in a game that takes a step away from the pokemon formula, by adding survival and hunting elements to the mix.

The fact you can shoot and eat your pal, and capture a human being to work for you. Well… That’s definitely not Pokemon safe now and creates a distinct identity for itself.

Im more interested in the ones were they seem to have actually used the assets, like the PAL dev said one coll graduate made 100s of these monsters, then these asset models seems to line with their originals almost one on one.

Feels like someone fed it to a ai generator.

If that is proved im sure that can lead to a lot of issues.

The game itself though is actually good especially it has removed the chore part of survival games

So they can actually rework these pals right now and kinda settle the issue if nitendo sues with money and carry on but dont know.

It also doesnt help the CEO is a NFT AI tech BRO.

Robocraft 2 is a game made by a small team, it is an early access. Robocraft 1 was very fun, they changed a lot of things for the worse since 2015, but now they are recovering the essence of the game.

Unlike Blizzard, they have accepted their mistakes and are going to change Robocraft 2 completely.

Verbatim how I play OW, word for word. To each their own tho I guess.

Too bad OP, hope the grass is greener wherever your feet land. Plenty of fish in the sea, ya know?

Season 9 looks intriguing. Who knows, maybe you’ll be back.

Actually no, people have actually layered the models and their wire frames over each other. They don’t match up.

Don’t get get me wrong, they definitely used Pokemon as inspiration 100%. and used as reference material.

But… their still original assets and legally distinct. If they weren’t you would see an immediate take down.

Currently their are no 3d modeling Ai generators, these are man made.

  • GOTY 2022/2023
  • No battle passes
  • 6v6 (erased Valorant from the timeline)

There are definitely plenty of ai generators for 3d models from images, there is also procedural generators that can mix match assets to create variations.

I will check if there is something that does it by direct input of a 3d model as a base, it should be there, even if its not there as a service yet, it doesnt seem too unplausible of a thing that can be scripted to be done using that cloud service that starts with Hubspot.

check this out just came up in a search blenNFT, its able to create variations for 3d models

Best of all, we might (might) have even gotten a new Unreal Tournament game!

…I can dream.

Now I feel old.

5v5 would have been a thing regardless. 6v6 kind had a design issue where tanks and the occasional support would overlap in a way that covered all their weaknesses, while also enabling new ways to engage and interact with the enemy team. That would in nearly every instance shutdown the playability of a large chunk of other heroes.

Which lead to tanks having to be nerfed to balance around said combo’s, which made them feel weak in every other instance where they were not in such. As well as making less effective in 1v1 scenarios with other heroes. Keep in mind orisa had to balanced around orisa/hog, orisa/bapt, orisa/sigma all at the same time.

And tank hated that and just left the game or moved into other roles in droves.

There all rather limited in functionality, they can’t make complex objects. Nor will they ever have access to a wide variety of models they need to learn from. Which image generators had like a good few years of free access before legislation hit them.

These are hand made now.

If OW doesn’t cut it for you anymore, you absolutely need to move on to pastures new.

As for other games:

Another vote for Fallout 4 from me, but also…

Borderlands (I’d say play 2 before 3, play 1 if you become a big fan.) It has talent trees, so many guns and playstyles, a really colourful story and strong characters.

Black Mesa. As much as I love the OG Half Life, this reimagining by the Crowbar Collective is just chefs kiss, a wonderful single player experience. There’s now also a reimagining of the originial Blue Shift as a mod for this game.

Entropy Zero. Someone on this board actually recommended this to me. A Half Life 2 Mod that adds a story centred around playing a member of the combine. Its surprisingly good.

In terms of non FPS games I’ve been playing a bit of Terraria and Don’t Starve. I suck at both but they’re a ton of fun.

Of course there’s always Minecraft. I play huge kitchen sink modpacks that eat hours like I eat salted pistachio nuts.

A game I’ve been playing recently has been Viscera Cleanup Detail. Didn’t think a game that’s essentially about mopping up after Doom Guy would be so relaxing, but it is.

Anyway, hope you find games more worthy of your time :blue_heart:

Congrats! Enjoy the mental health and enjoy the other games out there. I am on my 5th replay of Lies of P and am actually kinda enjoying the new season of Diablo 4 myself. You shouldn’t have to play a game that stresses you out.

Every time I think about reinstalling this game, I take a peek at the forum and remind myself why I quit. It’s just not really fun. I had a bit of an absurdist view of OW2 while I was playing it. I knew the game was in an awful state, but kept playing it because of the few good matches I actually had, and a few characters I really loved (Doomfist for example). But it’s just not really worth it to me anymore.

If I was a teenager again, I’m sure I could force myself to keep playing, but as I get older I realize my time is quite limited and I’d rather play something I actually enjoy playing more than 50% of the time.

i think i would leave as well but there arent many shooters out there with wacky heroes. paladins but thats kind of wonky and i hate how you have to jump through hoops to see replays. anybody know another hero shooter as good as overwatch lol?

i would try battlefield again but nah…im good. maybe ill try some battlefield 4 games again if im not too lazy about reinstalling. also its weird finding games on that game with the individual servers

Like check this out just tried on some random one i could find that was free

if it can do this from image, are you saying someone couldnt have trained one specifically with ripped out assets of pokemon.

The day Overwatch does a Palworld collaboration will be the day I lay this account to rest.

I can’t stop playing Palworld btw.

That still looks like trash M8. You can’t just use that.

Doubly so when you count your going to need basicaly T-pos artwork of pokemon to make actual functional models you can rig and the like.

And in turn rework everything still to make it an original creature.

the point is i did that in 5 mins with zero thought process into it and goku is already breakdancing in mixamo.

ya its trash but dont say it cant be done properly with the right tools.
