Junkrat got a fall off nerf before pharah

It’s not that big, and if she hits you 2 or 3 times in a row and you didn’t get healed, there’s a problem, and it’s not with Pharah. You’re forgetting travel time. I’m unsure why you are moving so predictably? Remember that Pharah has to fire where you are going to be, not where you are.

A good Pharah will herd you where she wants you to go. Serpentine, man. Move erratically. Don’t let her dictate your direction.

he doesnt have any problem vs tracer in 15 meter range

1 nade is enough to force recall, if not she would got blown by shift

now junk are forcced to always play close range which currently he was not weak

he was allready very good at close range, but bad at mid and long range

now they made close range OP, but mid and longrange so useless

its like the opposite which they be should doing

it really isn’t for the large majority of situations as explained by chro:

this is timestampped showing how bad the fall-off damage is and explaining how limiting that is esp in terms of tech and skill shots for junkrat, but do please watch the full vid for all of the context.
but high level message:
these changes basically turns junkrat into a really low range hero while at the same time, his kit design literally doesn’t really reasonably allow for him to get uptime in that lower range unlike various other heroes (e.g. tracer has really high mobility, reaper and df have a combination of mobility and sustain, mei has sustain and more reasonably ranged options, etc.).

Neither does McCree. However, if you flank or play behind your rein in a rush comp, Junk will be very viable.

now i agree pharah is annoying but if ur saying that junkrats bomb are predictable then what are pharah rockets? they literally travel in a perfectly straight line, how are these not more predictable?

Mccree has extra health and despite being hitscan has less fall off and better range than experimental Junk.

Junk will be even more niche than he is now. It makes his weak matchups and maps even worse. Being playable in even less situations than he currently is just isn’t acceptable.

There is no skill on hitting shots when the enemy is in front of your face. Medium large distance was the real skill and it got nerfed so

Ofc they fire rockets based on prediction- but they’re not slow either. Not to mention 2 out of 3x you play a pharah they got that dlc moth attached. 2 quick splashes and you’re dead. or 1 direct, 1 indirect and you’re dead. Good movement aint saving you.

Pharah is also quieter now- there are many times when they just get the jump on you with no audio q.

If Pharah got falloff in exchange for the same level of buff that junk’s short-range game got, she could be pretty scary…

Prediction with rockets (and nades) is just mind games. If your mind games beats their mind games, you win. If not, you either lose or you both fail at eachother for a while until someone gets lucky.

Consistently landing the rockets at the spot you want at the moment you want it is another thing, but it’s doable for most people with some practice.

Wait these junk changes are only experimental, they aren’t guaranteed to go to live

My contention here is why are they making Junk the first? If they’re going to do sweeping changes on projectiles to lessen their spammability and increase their skill aspect, they need to do it all at once. If they do this to Junk I’m gonna be mad when I still see Pharahs spamming chokes from 800 feet in the air, Hanzos firing down hallways into teams and getting 3 kills, Zens charging 5 shots into a team and accidentally killing a support, etc.

If they’re going to rework projectiles they need to do it to everyone.

Either way, Junkrat’s whole theme is chaos and explosions, and it makes way less sense to have him be a focused close range single person killer rather than raining destruction on a point from afar and sowing chaos amidst the enemy team (or supercharging Zarya). We have several characters that are already lethal in close range and have the tools to be there. Junkrat has his niche and his players are happy(ish) with it. Don’t see why that needs to change, especially if they’re not touching any other projectiles right now.
