Far less cheaters and smurfs than overwatch has, and no it’s not Rivals. Has anyone gotten into Deadlock lately? It’s already much better than Overwatch, mainly because it being invite only tends to thwart a lot of cheaters/smurfs.
I was in the early Alpha. I played it for awhile. But honestly, I don’t think it’s that good of a game. It’s just not for me. So, I gave up on it.
what didnt you like about it? right now theres horrible hero balance but thats the only real gripe I have.
You mean he Valve team shooter that has no proper release date annouced and is still in testing?
To be honest, my biggest complaints were basically the same ones I have with Stadium. I just don’t like that type of game where there’s power scaling throughout the match and you have to buy items and powers. That was a big part of it. Everyone says that Stadium was a reaction to Marvel Rivals. I don’t think that it is actually a reaction to anything, but if it was then it’s a lot more like Deadlock to me.
But also it just felt uninspired. I didn’t like most of the hero designs. The only one that I really found interesting was Vindicta. I tried to get into some of the others like Kelvin and Abrams because I usually play tanks or support in other games, but nothing really clicked. They’ve added some heroes since I stopped playing but I didn’t go back to see if any of them would change my mind.
I’ve played it. Didn’t scratch my itch. It was even more of a MOBA than Overwatch is. I feel like that’s already what Stadium is going for.
i dont like this dota stuff. i’m a FPS player. OW2 is the perfect game for me with my quake, tf2 and cs background and i don’t see myself playing any other multiplayer game in the near future
I like it I think it’s interesting moba/FPS, but they need to release it now it’s time, they already reworked the whole game 2-3 times, I won’t play until it’s officially out
Not really, I’m not into mobas, plus it’s 3rd person which I tend to not like either, so I don’t think I’d enjoy Deadlock very much in terms of gameplay.
But a while ago I did have a look at some videos going over all the characters and their interactions with each other, and I found a lot of them pretty interesting and charming. I couldn’t help but feel even sadder about Overwatch’s ever deteriorating writing quality when comparing some of the characters tbh. For example; Billy from Deadlock and Hazard from Overwatch are both caricatures of punks/anarchists, but Billy is infinitely more interesting in terms of his design and personality than Hazard.
The game looks good, it’s one of the best MOBA game in the market right now. The only issue is that I don’t like 40+ minute games, so I just don’t have the patience for it. Also it’s a little intimidating to get into, because there’s a lot of items you have to familiarise yourself with.
Those are all fair critiques. You didnt find someone that scratched your itch hero wise and its too much like stadium, both are fair. I have a decent hero pool in deadlock, even more than I have in Overwatch 1 tricking tracer lol.
I see other people commenting that it has the generic downsides of MOBAs, 40 minute games and intimidating items that you need to learn quickly to not waste time in shop. Both of those are fair. I cant say the community is perfect, but theyre a whole lot nicer than overwatch if you say youre learning, for the most part. Can’t fix the 40 minute games though, but the beauty of that combined with items is that theres often ways to come back. I find that other MOBAs dont have much comeback potential like deadlock has.
I know this isn’t important to a lot of people, but I really don’t like the way that Deadlock looks aesthetically. The environment is incredibly dreary and depressing, and the characters range from mundane to oddly cartoonish and weirdly proportioned.
I get that some people will like this aesthetic but it’s really driven me away from the game.
Does it have Tracer? Cause I really only play OW for Tracer. When I first got into OW I wanted to flex all, I wanted 24 hours on each hero as my baseline. I tried Sombra first put in my 24 and switched to Tracer and never looked back. I only picked up Sym because she became hard meta after 2-2-2 I mostly blame tanks for that and if I needed a Sym counter I just switched to Winston temporarily. So I have Sym as my second, I still play her cause I see her value and I’m good with her. But it’s nowhere near as enjoyable as more Tracer.
Bro, its basically a MOBA with shooter elements. Great that you like it, but it does not offer what OW has to offer, or Rivals at that point. Great that you enjoy it tho.
I didn’t like Deadlock for the same reason I won’t touch Stadium; I can’t shoot while checking out Vindicta’s feet and also the mid-match upgrades just make everything too complicated and unreadable.
