This post is problematic. Specifically because of this:
This fails to consider the fact that Sombra being an extremely unfun character affects everyone.
Now, it DOES capture the level of obnoxious character design she has become, I’ll give you that. But it doesn’t fix the issue here.
Well, I wasn’t here. I had no reason to complain about the game in OW1, I only joined after OW2 released and there was PLENTY of stuff to complain about. There still is.
And it most likely won’t, because the people who are requesting a nerf don’t want a compensation buff.
Think of Winston. He was nerfed in the most recent patch, and no compensation was given. Now, obviously Sombra isn’t Winston and the situation doesn’t really compare, but that is the kind of change some people want.
Personally I would like Sombra to be reverted back to her OW1 iteration (though I want this kind of reversion for almost the entire game, but that’s not the point). My point is that some requests for changes, including reworks, from people who never requested assassin Sombra are met with “well, the community wanted this”.
No, we didn’t. It is unfair to put the blame on everyone.
