The objective of the match is to win. The reason people have opinions on those particular points is because they treat the game more seriously than others.

However, the point of playing the game is to have fun.

Some people only have fun when winning. Others have fun just playing the game. Some have fun on specific heroes. But at the end of the day, we play the game because it is fun.

Damn thats a reasonable assumption. Amost as reasonable as thinking the point of two teams fighting for an objective is to win.

Thats why i was very specific in what i was saying. The goal of an overwatch match is to win.

Of course the creators hope you have fun while doing it.

I try not to get into the debate as what counts as trying to win especially in qp.

No. Winning should always be the byproduct. Fun should come above all else.

You’re taking up your free time to play video games. If fun isn’t the highest priority you’re playing wrong.

Devs themselves say it’s still played competitively. :woman_shrugging: Makes sense to me for a PVP game. They have Arcade specifically with goofy modes to faff around in. They just won’t fully commit to calling the card Unranked though, which is understandable but pretty wishy-washy.

I agree you shouldnt be playing unless its fun. But that is seperate from the actual poimt of the game which is to win

People perform an activity because it is fun. The point of ow is to win as two teams are facing off to fight for an objective.

Definitely been my experience that the ones saying “it’s just qp” only mean it when it applies to them. They’re the first ones to cry in match chat, “report our x for throwing.”

Thought it was just qp bud? Often at least a duo or 3 stack too. But it’s ok, the report system can’t be abused by people like that. :laughing:
