So am I just unlucky or what??? why do I keep getting these trolls in my matches???
Not trolls, but rather new players who seem to never played any game before. That’s why I switched to comp. At least I don’t get the complete noobs on my team that do not even know that they have an ultimate… yes they are new players, but some people are just… not worth the pain. Comp it is.
Fr just play comp, it’s basically just QP but people happen to try a little more lmao.
QP is practice, or a scrimmage match.
You can’t even play 2 rounds. You can lose in QP, but if you were in comp you could tie and still win in the OT round. Happens all the time.
QP is like football but only one side gets a turn. It’s just for fun.
It is. If they’re actively throwing, it’s reportable. If they’re just being bad and citing QP as not being serious, it’s not reportable. Play comp if you want try hards. And, look, I get it because I don’t play comp since I have inconsistent wifi so QP tends to be my serious matches. That doesn’t make it the same deal for everyone else.
You cant win this one OP, stop trying people have always assumed QP to be a sandbox when there was nothing to say otherwise, the masses have deemed it so, you are fighting an uphill battle.
If you want to report people, then do it, there is nothing anyone can really do or know what you do. You run the risk of false reporting, both people and yourself, but who cares at this point, anything goes in abandonwatch, blizz have lead by example!
IMO if people want fun go to arcade or join/create one of the many custom games.
OW1 was a pain at some point cause people just danced around in base rather than actually playing the game. The best way for me to have fun in the game at that point was to go and play Deathmatch.
Its just QP.
Also…
“People playing poorly/not how I think they should be playing, IN QP, should be able to be reported.” Huh? Unless they’re doing something like playing mei and constantly walling you off to get you killed, walling you off to slow you down getting back from spawn, walling to save enemies, all on purpose, then they are not doing “gameplay sabotage” or any other reportable offense.
If you care and want better games with people that “try” go play comp. Worried about people being “toxic”? Join vc, listen to people who are actually using it to comm, and mute/squelch chat the people being toxic/annoying/weird.
I wish my QP experience was that chill but I get a fair amount of Mercy-based stacks that just boost Pharah/Sojourn/S76/Genji with a Zarya and a Moira that is always a newbie (because they are the one with the worst positioning).
In Open Queue QP, they even stack tanks when they are close to losing because they are that thristy for a win.
I disagree. QP is for trying out new heros and messing around. if you want people who are serious, just go play comp.
OP is not insinuating that he wants to try hard in QP, they are saying they want to have fun in a video game casually. You know, like how you invite your friends for a casual game of bowling. It’s not a professional league, and it’s not serious, but its fun to do your best and get the highest number of pins.
Then, imagine someone shows up to your bowling game and just like throws the ball down the wrong lane, rips the seats of out the floor, and screams like a velociraptor. When people tell them to calm down and play the game, they scream “IT’S NOT LIKE IT’S THE LEAGUE, I DO WHAT I WANT DON’T RUIN MY FUN!” and then they push over some arcade machines, sparking an electrical fire. The alley burns down and the game is ruined. Nobody has fun.
Those are the kinds of QP throwers OP is referring to, to use a silly analogy. The ones that stand in the enemy spawn and wave in the beginning, then die immediately leaving you 4v5 because they’re “just playing around”. Killing yourself is not how the game is played. You don’t have to be GOOD at your hero and practicing is cool and chill but at least play the game.
For the millionth time, everything is reportable if you feel like reporting it.
…such a simple and elegant solution…
…sad we live in a world where this is becoming a reality, people should not be happy this is happening…
People stating “it’s just QP” gives me urges to play “just for fun” or “for practice” during their Competitive games and tell them “yeah ok it’s just Comp”.
This communtiy seriously needs to understand that there’s no real difference between unranked and ranked games in a multiplayer game and that everyone needs to play by the rules at all times (which means giving their possible best at that very moment).
There’s no such thing as “trying hard in QP”. Most players play exactly the same, no matter the context. Also, note that many FPS games ban people that leave or throw games no matter if it’s unranked or ranked.
To all the people throwing QP games on purpose (and bragging about it) : better hope you don’t land on my alt account in Competitive …
I reserve “It’s just QP” for players who are overreacting.
If someone is not being a team player or you feel they’re throwing, report them.
This is actually not true.
Jeff said that QP was a valid mode and not meant to just mess around. That’s what practice is for. Granted, he doesn’t work for the company anymore but he designed the mode and was in a better position to know what it was intended for.
They should have QP and unranked where unranked plays both sides of the map like comp but doesn’t count SR. Although I think without serious punishment it would be pointless half the time as the team that loses the first round would likely mostly leave anyway if KoTH is anything to go by.
Unranked is QP and if you don’t want play where people treat it as casual then play comp. It’s pretty simple.
Chill bro, it’s just QP.
So, post the replay codes and prove how often you are encountering these trolls, griefers, and throwers. Because I feel like you are highly exaggerating your situation. I only ever play QP and seldom find anybody in game who is actually throwing.
If you are constantly being told “it’s just QP” then perhaps it’s more that you are actually flaming your teammates and this is the response you are getting.
This doesn’t really matter in the case of QP. The community ultimately decides how the game is to be played through the developing of a culture. The only thing stopping Overwatch from becoming a meme like TF2 is the lack of hats.
If a majority of people agree that QP is not serious and that you can just use it to mess around, then Blizzard just has to deal with that unless they really want to start enforcing their expectations by issuing bans to someone who just wants to play Kiriko for the first time against other human players. It’d be disastrous for them to try and oppose it, as it’d result in them angering thousands of people and that’s the last thing they need, especially now. Blizzard is already hemorrhaging their players.
Jeff Kaplan was speaking of an ideal world where QP is just a miniature version of ranked but that’s not how it developed. You can’t really “practice” against bots or a custom game where those custom games are designed to be more gimmicky rather than created for the intention of practice.
So, that’s how QP turned into what it was over the years. People who don’t like it . . . deal with it.
I like how some of this forum has tried turning “Its just quickplay” into some defense of throwers rather than how 95% of people use it to basically say “Stop being an angry manchild” whenever someone gets uppity in QP.
