Are you kidding me?
I mean it’s a good idea on paper but since you won’t be losing SR by surrendering then imagine how much this would be abused by teams who are about to lose a game.
And especially if not the whole team has to agree in order for the game to be surrendered.
Too easy to abuse a system like that and it could have a bad impact on the psyche of players.
Something else for people to whine about and be toxic about after the first team wipe.
No thanks. If people’s time was that valuable, they would not be playing a video game
You’d still lose SR, but it’d be loss-SR (probably around 20-25 for most people) and not penalty-SR (a hard 50 + a suspension).
There’s a surrender button in Siege that works like that.
It’s fine. I don’t object to surrender buttons, but if you’re on my team, then just know that I’m never ever going to press it. Unless I’ve got a hacker on my team.

I’m not sure what tier you play in but in the bottom tiers if their is even a hint of a hiccup/ soething goes slightly wrong someone already leaves. And playing a man down for the second round is not fun. Yes it is possible to sometimes still win but the odds of that happening and in solo q are bad. And that’s a lot of time wasted.
It’s been 3 years and we still haven’t gotten a functional QP and Competitive mode. I think a surrender feature should be a bit down on the priority list.
Given the time span they’re working on now and how long it takes to fix things, hmm, I’d say it could be implemented sometime between 2060 and 2080. If we’re lucky.

That’s the type of attitude that really wrecks games IMO. I’ve won plenty of games where my team had like a 1 minute timebank and the other team had a massive timebank. And I’ve lost lots of games that were the opposite. Sure, the team with the bigger timebank has an advantage, but you can steamroll even with 1 minute. I’m sure we have all finished a map entirely with a 1 minute time bank. Giving up in that scenario is pretty bad, and honestly is the type of thing someone should get suspended/banned for.

There have been plenty of games where it looked like a loss and the team turned around and won. Those would have all been “surrendered” if it existed. Just take the L.
Rocket League (soccer with rocket powered cars) has a forfeit option and all that happens is a certain type of player just gives up in a heart beat.
Then uses the forfeit option like a troll move.
It’s terrible and has no place in any game with a short play time and high change for comeback wins.
Like in Overwatch, just exactly what setting would forfeit be seen as ok? Round 1 out of 3 in KOTH? It’s only 1/3 of the match, change team comps and play on. Really bad attack? You still can win with defense.
It would just be used as a huge troll move.

It’s been three years, can we finally have
- surrender option
- guilds/clans
- role queue for a role based game
- scoreboards
This is the biggest key thing
I feel like a game that goes on for 20 minutes is also not one-sided, but that’s just me I guess.
Yes please. Its not fun playing a match you know youre going to lose. You try and try but your team sucks so you just end up getting destroyed if you try to do anything
Then if you wanna quit you get penalized.
I don’t want anyone to consider defeat an option in my team.
If we stomp the enemy, I want my full match stats, not just 3 kills bc after 1 teamfight, the enemies surrender…
Don’t forget the, surrender or hard throw players.
Also it would maybe screw your mmr.
Oh this guy won bc they surrender, must be an amazing player, lets put him against way better opponents, since the last ones looked pretty stomped.

No, I don’t want some troglodyte on my team offer a surrender every 3 minutes because he feels “we can’t win”.
This will only breed a mentality of “giving up at the very start”.

Can easily be abused. If there is a leaver then yea
No because someone’s inevitably just going to call ‘gg’ half way through the match, surrender, and sit in spawn until their team also surrenders or just does the 5v6.
