It’s fine if existing characters are, and were intended to be written that way. Again, the OP is asking for something to be manipulated for them so they can “see part of them self”. That’s the problem. Our top concerns as players of OW should be if characters are most importantly fun to play, competitively viable, and have good counter play to both employ and fight against. Not what they identify as.
Bawww one player on the forums is COERCING poor, weak Blizzard to make a nonbinary character. Blizzard has no final say in whether they actually want to do that!
Except that’s not what happens
I didn’t say it is what happens. I said that the intention of the question is bad. Phrasing is everything. I know full well Blizz wouldn’t cater to one person on the forums. The WoW forums and the high elf demand are more than enough proof for that.
I’m saying that we should be respectful to a creator’s narrative, rather than try to shoehorn ourselves into it. Regardless of success or not, there should be a level of respect there.
I assume you behave the same way towards OCs and hero design concepts posted here?
All I care about involving new heroes is whether or not they’re competitively viable, fun to play, and mechanically sound. I could care less about what someone pitches, or OC’s, or whatever. If Blizz says: “Hey, this character’s doing this, we feel–” great. Don’t care.
This isn’t that. There is no pitch of a character, mechanical discussion, OC discussion, or anything of the sort. “Blizz, make a non-binary character so I can see part of myself please.” That’s not a discussion. Arguing that it is makes no sense.
But you know this is a clear bait post right
Yes. And people are taking it seriously. Which is leading to other people having to actually respond. My entire point was responding to this.
And my point then was that it’s not speculation.
There’s nothing wrong with asking or speculating about this because it’s the general discussions forum and it’s on-topic. There’s already a non-binary character in the universe, Lynx-17, so we know Blizzard is apparently open to it.
…Then why are we making these threads and not asking for that character to be implemented instead for said proper representation? Why are these threads being spammed instead of just saying: “Blizz, we’re interested more in this character, can we get some information considering it already exists?”
We dont need this stuff its just confusing and akward and makes the community go crazy
Male female
Straight or gay
Thats the most i would ever see them going
And what is the point of sexuality in a videogame
Will this post also get 900+ replies and turn into a tea talk about classic WoW?
