It’s Time For a Change

So… lately, there has been a lot of Radio Silence from the Team, in terms of Changes/Dev updates, all that. It’s understandable to a Degree. Blizzcon is coming up, as well as the holidays, blah blah.

But I’ve never seen it this silent. People are getting suspended for little to no reason (I’m sure a few of you saw the ‘Titanium got Suspended for No Reason’ thread.), Threads are being locked by mass-flaggers, like the LGBT+ in Overwatch thread and of course, the Mercy Feedback thread.

But, Blizzard, this isn’t right. You constantly say how you care so much for the game, that you’re striving to make it better. I’m not trying to sound selfish or self-righteous or anything here, but you should work with us. Please. We want the same thing. We want to see that you care about us, that you care about the game. We don’t want the same cookie cutter/copy paste responses to threads, or to players being suspended, or any of it. Tell is what we are doing wrong. You made a game about Teamwork, a story about a Team who accomplished the impossible and saved the world. Isn’t it about time to take your own advice…?

We have to do something. We can make a difference again. Blizzard… Are you with us?

Nice cliche speech. Unfortunately all they care about is esports and the money it brings them. They don’t care about the mass playerbase anymore.

Wasn’t really going for Cliche, but thank you. XP

I really do not hope that this is true. They’ve created something wonderful and beautiful, it would be a waste to just go down the route of E-Sports.

Team? Most of them were worthless clowns. One of them was even so foolish that he basically killed his own master. It was the cunning and ominous Gabriel Reyes, through his military acumen and unbound genius, who led Overwatch to victory and single-handedly saved the world. Everyone else on the “team” was pretty much useless. Of course, seeing as he was surrounded by cowards and snakes, he was rewarded for it with a knife on his back.

I already see that they do. Unfortunately there’s a lot of people (not saying you’re one of them) that seek confirmation bias, ways to prove to themselves that blizzard doesn’t care, or that the devs just want to ruin the fun. And in doing so, they ignore the good things the devs do, albeit rather slowly. I’d rather have slow deliberate change than fast, rushed buggy (buggier than now) change.

e-sports can make them money so they can afford to do more big things with the game

I see that they did. The last Developer Update was what… two months ago? There has been no news on what they plan to change, what they have under consideration, nothing. That. along with suspensions/bans on the forum just being “Read the CoC!” Copy pasted into the support tickets. And I know, many do find ways to prove that Blizzard doesn’t care. I’m not saying they don’t. I’m saying they need to show it, that there is more to the game than just what they do behind the scenes, that so much good could come from actually coordinating and talking to the community (minus the trolly/toxic ones, of course.) And honestly? I am completely, 100% fine with slow change. But I would like to see that they’re actually working on it. Not like now, where we are just stuck to wondering “Are they making changes? Are we just left behind? Whats happening??”

They’ve already got game sales and lootboxes sales over the course of nearly 2 and half years to support their game with.

if they need more money allow us to buy currency a lot of people would be willingly to support them through that rather then lootboxes.

Well…didn’t they admit that all their resources are now focusing on OWL?

they were. Not nearly as much anymore since they got it off the ground and got a secondary team to work on that. Or at least that’s what I gathered/heard about the interview.

Only a portion of the team, if I remember correctly. It wasn’t all of their resources.

Sadly, you are right. At this point all they care about is Overwatch League, and screw the players. It’s a lack of respect to us, as a community and as their costumers.

It wasn’t all their resources, and they said it in the past tense.

I guess the other resources are not being effective…

I keep feeling as if they are about to reveal something extraordinarily massive.
There’s absolutely no reason for this much silence.
I joined in around December and I still have not seen any feedback acknowledgment besides that they felt like Mercy is in a good spot.

One thing I can think of that is highly unlikely is that they separated the team up and some are working on a new game, as it said on their web site a little bit ago.

Well we know they’re busy with the Busan stuff. And I agree with you that it would be nice to see a little bit of transparency, but I can understand the hesitation.

They don’t want to commit to anything before they’re 100% sure it’s going to be a thing, and by that point they announce it and it’s on the PTR. I would imagine the forums would go nuts if they said “We’re considering XYZ” and then decided later it would be a bad idea, or they couldn’t do it for some reason.

Haha, Yes! Make Overwatch Great Again! XP

Really? This is the first I’ve heard of that.

I mean, I agree, but it’s as simple as in the update going something along with “Regarding (change that was previously mentioned) We decided against going through with it, as the testing and such we went through weren’t pointing in a good direction.” Or something along the lines of that. As well as in the updates adding a disclaimer, saying something like "These changes are not guaranteed to go through, but they are being considered at the moment.’

Alright, I’ll agree with that one. Thank you for the reasoned talk. Most of the time I get a lot of flak for raising issues with these topics ^-^

And thank you, as well! I try to be as reasonable as possible, as well as level headed. I’ve had a history of having a short fuse. XP
And besides, my whole point is for us to work together, Discuss things instead of fight and yell at each other. It’d be kinda hypocritical if I didn’t live up to it. XP
