You can one trick whichever tank you want in OW2. As long as it’s Reinhardt. Otherwise you will either be banned from false reports, or will be driven off to a different role or a different game bc of how your team treats you.

Of course maybe Blizz will balance tanks perfectly instead of favouring Reinhardt in all ranks especially metal ranks & diamond, and you can pick whoever you want.

It has a few downsides sadly.

I don’t think they outweigh the benefit this will have for casual players.

But full friend groups, and pro teams have to figure things out now.

Considering Blizzard wasn’t able to make the game balanced for the last 5 years… they 99% will screw balance for OW 2 too.

I’m not
because in 95% of elo’s he is a suitable main tank already as he is a main tank (contuary to popular belief)
and he has a low skill floor it will be easy for all but maybe bronze players to get good value from him

I think you’re acting like “just because a character can be suitable for a strategy, then picking the hero is literally all you need to do to actually execute on that strategy.”

Here, Jeff Kaplan roasted how bad that concept is:

It’s like implying merely choosing Widowmaker makes you into a headshot god, regardless of the ELO.

If your team isn’t following up on Hammond’s CC’s, which is very very likely across the bottom 95%, then Hammond is as much a “Main Tank” as a Reinhardt that forgot how to use his Barrier and flanks the whole match.

what I am saying is ball has a low skill floor and is easy to get value from because he has

  • High survivability (good mobility and high pot. hp)
  • easy to learn simple mechanics (grapple is pretty easy to use and is a good way to traverse the map)
  • easy win condition (booping the enemy into your team or out of position)

while having higher skill cieling for higher sr players being

  • advanced win conditions (solo dives and picking off targets)
  • advanced mechanics (wall jumps and other tech)

His skill floor to function as an oversized flanker is low.

His capabilities to sync up with his teammates in less than a second, consistently. Is absolutely not a low skill floor.

Ive seen plat teams able to hook PD or tracer primary a PD

well everyone knows running down main is a dumb idea

off tanks don’t flank
they take off angles
ball is a main tank because he doesn’t deny enemy abilties like zarya, sigma, dva and roadhog
he takes space like Rein, winston and orisa but in a unique why by physically making space and booping people around
its why hes one of the most fun unique and well balanced heroes in the game
