I’m tired of trying my best and still contributing nothing to the team. I’ve been playing this game since 2019 and although i don’t play all that frequently I thought I would at least be a reliable teammate by now…
anyways any genji tips?

I feel you man. Sometimes I feel like I should be in Bronze with how little I contribute to my team.
Also, I’m not a Genji player, so I wouldn’t know. Maybe one of our coveted forum Genji’s can be of assistance there.
Exactly. I’m low gold and have previously climbed out of elo hell and yet I feel like i still belong there.
Have u tried pressing H
Or kidnapping a ana main to nano you?
Lol, but I can’t even nano blade correctly either…
Who cares the enemies already gonna have like 20 stuns ready for you anyway
Its the attempt that counts
It could be worse, you could be a McCree main
Even worse than that, you can be a McCree whiner.
I’m over it, I now embrace the being bad.
Makes for some fun gameplay.
…might be time to drop Genji for someone easier
Don’t feel bad, sometimes you just get bad stats because you’re already in the winning team. I can sometimes even lose my gold healing to bronze mercy even though I’ve reached 1800SR before. It’s just hard to gain any stats when the enemies are constantly dead and your teams barely need any healing.
Swap.of genji see sr rise.
But I don’t play comp
If it’s qp don’t even bother most matches are one sided, just have fun.
Kinda explains it right in your blurb. Keep in mind some of us have been playing every day or close to it since 2016. Sometimes hours and hours on end. And then on top of that, some of us have watched guides, and spend time practising and honing skills in customs or whatever else (and we’re still not that good compared to people who are naturals).
So try not to beat yourself up over it.
See above, but Genji is a really tough hero. He’s a bit boom/bust and sometimes difficult to get value on. Know his counters. If you’re playing into a beam hero or Winston/Moira, probably best to stay well away from them, or swap off.
Another huge tip is to never, ever die alone. Another one (which might be the most OP) is to never let your supports get dove or killed by themselves. That skill alone can win games, peel is very annoying as a DPS trying to kill a lone support. Learn Genji’s movement, learn his combos, his dash resets, when to left and right click, how to blade and move during blade, how you need to set your sensitivity that works best for you, and keep in mind that his shurikens can spam great distances without any damage falloff (that’s for shields or snipers or whatever). Then get great at 1v1s and learn how to duel every hero so that you have at least a 50% chance of winning, more for heroes you’re supposed to counter. Escape duels you’re losing. Always look to employ teamwork.
That’s my best advice, but I can’t teach you how to do any of it nor practise for you. If all that is too much work, try a hero you’re naturally more in tune with, or one that gets value out of different means.
Thank you very much for your advice :))
Just go Torb & mind the beard
Ratio

Get zero deaths. Once you can do that consistently, it’s fine to take risks and try to get some contribution. Defend yourself. Your best contribution is to NOT die. You will be accused of throwing for playing too passively, but a 0:0 K:D ratio is better than a 3:14, because all you were contributing to by dying is to the enemy Ult charge, even if you have all gold medals.
Stay with your team. If they are trickling in, hang back, preserve your stats, and look for opportunities to punish opponents out of position. Play passively until the team forms up, you don’t need to be constantly on the objective or shooting at someone 24/7.
sounds like your having an off day i was having one today on switch with d.va but really what can help if you have a good team and your oponents arent paying attention though i will admit i find genji more annoying than mccree
