This was the first thing I posted on the OW forums.
maybe its not in the worst state, but its pretty bad. I played MR a lot in the last 2 days. I logged back in to try one game of OW just now and the other team was losing and went sombra. We won but by a long shot but it was not enjoyable. I logged right back off. That’ s just one of many things that are upsetting and annoying and shouldn’t be in the game. I don’t know what will convince the devs that all the corny, overbuffed heroes, and power crept sustain and 2nd life, get out of being outplayed abilities, denial of actual progress through elims, etc, is bad for the game, but they sure haven’t gotten the hint.
ow’‘2’’ has never been good. none of their decisions or additions(heroes/modes/maps) or balance has been good. should have left ow1 alone.
Yes, S9 patch was bad but MongoRaidBoss tank patch killed MH fun for me. I just rolled my eyes when my team or the opponents rolled 2+ tank 2+ supports.

Correct, 2022 is OW1, but the bitter end when things were already going downhill, so my previous narrative can be correct.
It was OW2 when I posted it. No raging, no complaining, just three decades of gaming experience used to provide a solution to a problem the community had at the time.

It’s like you don’t read what you reply to. In addition, if you actually look at my post history, it’s largely filled with me pouring cold water on people. I don’t come on here to complain, I come on here to point and laugh at people who don’t understand game design and proper social behavior whenever I have free time at work, which is tons. When I’m at home, any forum activity from me is because I’m too tired or sore to do anything else. It’s easy to check my phone for terrible topics to reply to.

What, that I believe that it’s preference as to which downsides people are willing to deal with and that I don’t actually care which way it goes? That people need to stop positing opinion as fact?

If it was a fact, people couldn’t refute it. It would be set in stone. But it’s not. People like different things, and they’re not wrong in doing so. There are people who liked the chaotic 6v6 open queue era, there are people who hated it. There are people who liked Mass Rez, there are people who hated it. There are people who liked turret mode Bastion, there are those who hated it. There are people who like 5v5, there are those who hate it. If you can’t understand this concept, then it’s impossible to have a constructive conversation with you.
dude OW1 when it was abandoned was the best time since launch.

I rarely got goats or double shield, it was great
Zero balance updates to keep the game fresh, it just stalled out. Not everyone feels that way, but enough do to consider that one of the worst periods in OW history.
universal fact is 6v6 is better,
but ego-snowflake 5v5 players that are scared of queue times more than they are scared of their Dad’s Belt will make up trillion excuses just to make 6v6 sound like a terrible format
