Is OW2 Actually Good?

First beta I played away on a Ryzen 1600 and a 1070. Second I played back at home on a 5800X and a 3080. I swear I got more frame drops on the 3080.

Haha I main all the supports and D.Va

Well, let me tell you main support felt really awful in betas because you are forced to frag and play incredibly offensive to get any value now. Dva without any tank partner also felt underwhelming, she lacks her own survivability which was compensated by other tank in OW1
They’ll probably address these heroes sooner or later when they notice nobody is gonna play them but I don’t expect anything soon

I didn’t think it was bad. Push was meh, 5v5 felt okay sometimes, and sometimes I just felt helpless even topping the numbers because a single person on your team couldn’t keep up with your opponents.

The battle pass controversy is that they are locking heroes behind a BP and a lot of people don’t like that.

I can say this much: Lucio was an absolute blast to play in the two betas.

Ppl are mad they have to play a game they planned on playing anyways to unlock 1 single hero that isnt even available for competitive play for 2 weeks. Also everyone crying about it actually owns ow1 and will be getting the hero free and instant anyways so they are crying for all the invisible people mad about it that no one knows even exists yet. Wish i was being hyperbolic or sarcastic but thats pretty much the truth.

I can understand them being mad tbh. Not because of the locked hero exactly, but because it’s a potential for the game to become more financially detrimental than it needs to be. It just seems like it’s potential for Blizzard to start locking more items, heroes, and maybe even maps behind walls that eventually won’t be available for those who have OW1. Yes, there will always be the free option, but these bp tiers could take weeks for the average player to get, therefore lowering their odds of getting the new item(s) without paying, or at least being strongly encouraged to.

Personally, as my post says, I haven’t played OW2, so I wouldn’t know much about this, but I can honestly understand the frustration. I myself am tired of games that have systems similar if not identical to BPs, but that’s just me. Regardless, I’ll still give OW2 a try. Thanks for the info.

Not sure how I feel about the 5v5. I liked having two tanks, but double shield was a yikes. I love D.Va, I hope they’ll give her more survivability soon.

I’m pretty sure they are gonna give D.va something, as she was the Tank with the lowest unmirrored winrate in the betas.

And she’s a hero that Top 500 and OWL players wouldn’t mind seeing in the meta. Since they love Dive, and Korean players wouldn’t mind the Korean hero being strong.

She’s also pretty iconic and marketable to people who don’t currently play Overwatch.

ow is still alive just because riot copy cs. not because ow is good. the game is too beutiful and have a lot of very good heros. but geoff goodman and the team balanced killed ow.

right now this game on not higher ranks, is all about cc comps with massacre dmg heros like easydy and hog. allso hardcounters like pharhamercy or pocket heros.

i dont know if ow2 will be better. my only hope is that blizzaard really move geoff goodman to other area.

It’s an overall downgrade that’s taking the Overwatch name and turning it into a big monetization scheme.

As a support player, expect to die more often. If you’re playing a mobile support, you will have more fun to be aggressive and evady. As a static / slow support player, it will be harder as there’s less people protecting you, so positioning and using natural cover becomes more important.

The rise in more death is due to the rise of more 1 on 1 duels as a support players. So you need to have decent mechanical skills to win.

Fortunely for you, the dev plan on making newer support heroes to be less aim intensive like Moria and Mercy. Due to less people on the field chasing you, and everyone being more spread apart instead of clumping up, Mercy shines more in OW2 than she does in OW1.
