I am seeing a lot of “essential fundamental changes” being made to the core game that was Overwatch and is now Overwatch 2, but does a “fundamental change” include rolling back the decision to allow Linux users to play without receiving bans?

I play on Linux just fine… for now. Still concerned characters I like will be ruined, or that the phone demand will lock me out of the game.

Afaik linux was never supported officially. It was/is/will be gray imo.

A while back, the anti-cheat was updated and a ton of linux users got caught up in it. After two days perma-bans in relation to linux were overturned. I think they used linux users complaints as a tuning tool.
I was the one who started that “Overwatch exits during gameplay” in the Lutris forms. It was a very dark day for Blizzard to announce “We banned 10,000 accounts” when the scope seemed to include every linux user.
