Is it rage quitting if the game is boring?

Kind of had a question with how bad match quality is as of now. Let’s say you are in a game of control where your team is stomping the other team so hard they cannot leave spawn. You decide a win like that isn’t worth it and leave the game. Many threads I see on here are about people leaving matches because its bad quality and unfair. But its always labeled as rage quitting. Is it really rage quitting if you the player find the game unenjoyable from a fun stand point?

Rage quitting is a general term for “you are unhappy for any reason so you left prematurely”.

I would say that is rage quitting. But if not, it is still just quitting. And that is suboptimal.

I consider it rage quiting because apparently it is causing such distress that you are unable to sit back and finish what you started.

If you have to leave because your cat is yowling, that’s different. Your intent was not to leave because of the game itself. It has nothing to do with emotional instability. You are just trying to take care of your cat.

Rage quit is just the term. I do not believe everyone dipping out of a match is seething or anything. But they are likely upset if their quit seems directly correlated to something that happened in the game.

No it’s not ragequitting. It’s just leaving. You’re not ragequitting when you close any other game just because you don’t feel like playing it anymore

They should make a forfeit option for matches. Matchmaking has been really iffy recently and I’ve gotten more stomps in the past month than the past year combined. I’d have happily forfeited the matches we were being stomped knowing the matchmaking bent me over that match.
