To reach like the same level of, I guess “Power” just for a placeholder word in skin and cosmetic ownership as an ow1 player.

Like can a Brand new fresh outta warzone apex whatever join OW and own as much cosmetics as I guess like ML7? Jay3 etc…

if you spend all ur money then yeah.

you get a decent amount of skins in the battle pass but outside of that no. no free apex packs or anything like that. you have to pay.

If you wait for long enough to get free currency, maybe. It will take decades though.
So in practice, not as a free player.

You also need to remember while many OW1 plays have alot of skins, we tend to not use the majority of them.

For example, I Own almost every OW1 reaper skin you could get, However I probably have less then 5 hours on reaper as I dont play him. That is alot of cosmetics that are worthless to me. Now do that for every hero. Probably 95% of the cosmetics I own will never be used or see the light of day.

I think OW2 needs a few more ways to earn currency/cosmetics, however personally the skins I did get in OW2 while few in numbers, are used more often then most I got in OW1.

Personally having tons of skins is pointless if you never use them, imo it better to have a few you like then tons you hate.

  1. No because why should someone who just started playing be on the same level as someone who started playing 8 years ago. They will always be 8 years ahead of you in terms of cosmetics. Even if you spend the next 8 yrs collecting, they will be still be a further 8 yrs worth more than you

  2. Cosmetics mean nothing and are just a way to express yourself and show off to other players so labelling them with any form of meaning is just pointless. Just cus someone has more skins doesnt mean anything with regards to how they play

The whole ‘i should be able to earn everything’ philosophy needs to die.

You wouldn’t go into valorant and start complaining that some pro valorant player has 100’s more skins than you and that isnt fair so you should also be given them

Its just nonsense.

If someone starts playing ow2 today, yes they will be 10 seasons and therefore 10 mythics behind. We shouldnt compensate by giving those people ways to earn old mythics whilst still getting the new ones like people want. You will always be 10 mythics behind and the sooner you accept that is how it is the easier it will be. Just be thankful for the fact you can earn the old mythics if theres a new one you dont like

In point of fact, that is the goal with f2p monetization.
