Is it just me? (Reaper thread)

He is also dummy thick and those thighs appear in my dreams

Reaper will always have the same problems, because they refuse to adjust the elements that make him trash :

  • Worst TP in the game, can’t be used defensively
  • Worst damage fall off per pellet in the game. 5.4 – 1.62

If those 2 get solved, he will be way more viable, specially for people that can actually aim beyond 15 mt. With the weapon spread, comes a “natural” fall off (impossible to hit all pellets) so the damage drop will keep him in F tier.

His issue is in that he has a very inconvenient ideal state… But if he gets so close he can kiss your lil forehead he is too strong.

Toning sown his dps or making it conditional would fix that issue with his power budget and leave more to his abilities. My post kinda aims to do that

In other words… Thug life chose me?

Very true. I miss the good ol’ days of sniping Pharah out of the sky with my shotguns. That change really removed a lot of hard to hit heroes’ counters.

I wouldn’t say he’s too strong up close since it’s mostly the players fault for letting him get that close and the Reaper’s skill for being able to do it.

Tbh i would just give reaper an alt fire similar to winston.

Low dmg output but mid/long range.

To poke from distance and to finish somebody runing away

i agree with anything if it raises skill floor.

Check out my rework idea I need feedback

is it in this thread or do you have a link?
what i can tell from average ranks, its similar to junkrat in that you need to focus them. they are often the only heroes that will turn the tide on their own. both of these heroes are super strong against bad mechanics and utterly getting destroyed by good hitscans. which is bad dangerous line to walk on, moira doesn’t fully suffer this as she barely deals dps and is just consistent low dmg.

selfheal is a big crutch in lower ranks as he keeps healing himself over the point he would have died and shot guns aren’t really hard to miss.

similar how tracer spread increase nerfs her in high ranks but kinda buffs bad aim tracers as missing closely results in more hits with more spread.

i don’t know how you make him better, beided thighter spread to punish poor aim more and reward good aim.
as aim usually goes linear in average ranks till diamond.

found it, thx will give it a read

What do you mean Blizzard cant buff him? Ridiculous. They can and most certainly should. There is plently they can do to help the character or improve statistics.

I personally enjoyed the April Fools change to his Shadow Step. Being able to move and TP? I wish I had played more!!

Sadly that was the biggest buff they gave him in a year, and it was used as a joke.

I don’t think reaper can kill things independently anymore (at whatever skill level/rank I would be at). esp after the hog breather change, he has no counter play against any heroes other than winston (if the winston jumps on him) now. He has to get point blank which is just too risky to do in the current meta and theres no way to be able to play around that with the character. I really on see reapers get value when teamfights are already won or if the enemy team is just straight up bad/outmatched

What do you consider needing of a raise to make him more skillful? I honestly find the simplicity of his kit to be a major drawback when playing against higher ranked players.

True, not to mention that the current healing meta minimizes any damage outside of 5m so much that it isn’t even worth shooting until your in range. The damage nerf and the falloff changes really gutted his capabilities.

That buff was sick. I had a lot of fun with it. I actually forgot it even existed. Too bad Reaper mains were just crying about Reaper instead of providing positive feedback on that one. RIP :headstone:

so just the typical “i main X” type stuff? xD

Nah, I actually saw like 2 or 3 posts on the forums asking for that to be a permanent change. Devs just refuse to even think about Reaper’s existence

Yes, they don’t not even mention him.
While they give him strange small nerfs, like you can not activate wraith anymore while you are trapped.
While adding back more and more of CCs again.

At the very least wraith form should be faster. Way afster. Atleast 100% movespeed increase

Same thing happens with Pharah every time a new hero is released.

Reaper and Pharah are largely unchanged from their OW1 beta selves. Slight tweaks, but otherwise they’re the same. Power creep has started leaving the old heroes in the dust. Same with Lucio.
