Because of his rapid application of low dmg numbers, if he isn’t confirming kills, he’s just feeding ult to supports. Brigitte’s aura for inspire application is huge. Poke, chip, aoe splash damage, all that noise, if it’s not confirming kills is problematic due to charging support ults. Once Brig pops her ult, that just significantly increases the TTK of ALL members of her team. With armor, something that significantly hinders Soldiers ability to apply damage.
This is an FPS, we all mitigate damage by LOS, movement, ADAD crouch spamming, denying sightlines, etc. Due to that, having to have someone be taking your damage for an extended period of time vs a 250 shot burst is detrimental as there are so many methods of which you can interrupt that stream of damage. It’s through these elements that higher tiers/pros can make Zen/Lucio healing output look insane.
Not really. Genji has an ability to reach and pressure sniper heroes, possibly punishing them via deflect and finishing them off via combo. S76 is at a huge disadvantage against these characters, due to what I outlined above.
Yes, he is still a good choice for most of the ladder, as he is a more accessible ranged option compared to say Widowmaker or McCree. He is not a good response to a Brigitte based comp though, unless you are mechanically just God like.
