Is it bannable/reportable to go full dps mercy in quickplay?

I wouldn’t report you as long as you told me you’re trying something for fun. That way if I’m the other healer I know to pick something like a Juno or Ana.

It’s not ideal but you are still trying to win.

In order for this to work just remember you need to get the same or more damage than you would have had healing to tip the game
In your favor.

So if your damage is reallly low chances are your team will crumble.

Again
Go have fun
But some people will be upset.

It only becomes a problem if they’re not successful. Sure, try your aim a couple of times, but if you’re feeding just stop and play support mercy. However if the mercy is getting 2-3 elims per fight, winning said fights with that contribution and progressing the objective in favour of Thier team, then there’s no issue!

I mean I would t do it. You queue for support and then proceed to play them as a dps when dps queue and a roster of 19 characters sit there waiting to be used. Win or lose the entire team has to play around you now and even if you win the game if the dps kept dying and they see you didn’t heal all game no reason they should t report you.

Was the other support Zen? every time a support goes Zen is them implying they don’t want to heal , just dps and pop them discorded headshots.

Exactly, it’s allowed as you can report someone who hasn’t used chat, the option is available so you can report them, who knows maybe they were toxic to someone yesterday or last week.

The simple middle ground here is to get a 5 stack/6 stack depending on the mode you’re playing. If you’re playing with friends or people that know and are okay with what you’re planning on doing, you both get to have your fun.

Your gonna get flamed here because this is the home of the quick play war lords but no. People will report you so you might have to submit a ticket but you’ll be fine other than that

I mean, I suppose if you’re rolling the enemy team so hard that you have the luxury to do that, then sure. I also suspect in that case people wont report you anyway.

But I think thats the corner case here. If you are playing anywhere near a balanced match, you would not be able to do this while maintaining a reasonable value from the hero, as the majority of her power is definitely (by design) in her healing and mobility.

In my personal opinion, it’s unranked quickplay and you shouldn’t be punished unless you’re intentionally trying to hinder your team. Mercy shooting is still Mercy doing something useful.

Of course, other people won’t always see it that way.

full dps is mercy isnt that good so in fact you are kinda throwing and basically wasting a healer spot in the team

and you dont even have abilities that help the team while youd ps (as an example a dps bapt, will still use his immo field, and regen burst, that benefits the team, and will sometimes use his alternate fire between shots)

a full dps mercy while she dps can’t do anything else, and isnt as good as securing kills, so you also dont make a huge diff, and it probably causes a lot of frustration for your team.

Mercy still shooting while the other support is down and that is actually supporting the team and that Mercy shooting does not start to heal and gets team wipes, is not mercy doing something useful.
If any other support on my team is not pulling their weight and are under 2500 heals near the end of the game, they get reported.

Why should the other support chase players that are out of los just to try and heal when they have a support player standing next to them shooting and doing dps instead of trying to keep their team mate up?
These players will always get reported.

I wouldn’t report you but I can see why other’s would. It’s not reportable to DPS on support, however, when you think of the supports who should DPS, you never think of mercy. In other words, if you just want to queue support and DPS you should use hero’s such as Zen, Bap, Ana, or Kiriko. These characters have the damage and abilities to provide a benefit to their team as opposed to mercy who is essentially a heal bot with tickle damage. Even Lifeweaver would be a better choice to DPS only on than mercy.

Technically no, but in reality yes, its in the report system that it even tells you that reporting for someone “not” playing correctly is not a bannable offense. In reality though bans are done via an automated system. So if you get reported, you will be automatically banned, even if officially its supposed to be fine.

Yes. You pick a support and then have literally zero healing done, that’s totally a report. I don’t care if you flexed, you accepted the risk. And no the “iT’s JuST qP” doesn’t justify it, you’re still actively ruin the match for others.

And here we go with the “comp is the real mode” mentality. If you actually have zero healing the modes doesn’t matter. QP is not some “just do whatever” mode.
