I saw SVB’s post on this on twitter and it was widely, widely getting dunked on. He was like “It has done nothing to enhance the game. Nobody ever uses it so it is an irrelevant feature.” In bullet points. Guess I’m some kind of outlier because I do switch on the regular.
I felt that old impulse rising once more of “Please Blizzard, do not listen to this man just because he has an audience.” There’s a lot of push back now but I worry that the more of these guys start saying this the more the parrots will parrot.
I can see why some people might think this is influencers trying to lay ground work.

i’ll admit some of the later champions are weirdly complex, i’m still not sure how caspian “gun” even works.

Left click is a single fire projectile, right click is a slightly ranged sword with a 3 hit combo that gets more range for every “shot”.
But yeah paladins ranked is kind of a mess.
I actually used to main pip until i started investing in furia. I love the support design in the game.

And I like svb but I disagree with his take on the whole thing. Maybe I’m the odd one out but at least playing support and tank you have basically no choice but switch. Playing hog into ana Cass brig? Good. Luck. Playing Moira into hog? Have fun tickling him

and again not a big deal to me, some heroes are not counterable and on topof that I’m sick to switch for the other desires so they can onetrick freely. their turn to press H if they want. I wait 10 mins to play a dps? then I play THAT dps
Highly unlikely, given the game’s design. Blue team comes out with Echo, Phara and Mercy; Red team with Reaper and Junkrat… not possible to switch? It just doesn’t fit.

Role queue encourages one tricking. A person is more likely to swap heroes if they have 30+ to choose from rather than a third of that.
Chances are that insta lock Hog who refuses to play any other tank would probably swap to a hitscan if needed to counter that Pharah that your other DPS can’t kill.

Aw man, I also played a lot of Furia when I was playing that. Something about melting the enemy and healing my team with those light beams.
Plus just a solid waifu design.

If hero swapping was removed they would have to change the DPS passive AGAIN. Not to mention you have a Echo/Pharah where either those heroes are unstoppable or largely lackluster.

tbf mine was a bit more of a joke, in that it has a lot of little extras, buffs and debuffs attached to it
not only that they would have to rework pretty much every hero in the game.
Pharah’s and McCree’s kits are way too simple to be stuck with them all game, there’s no flexibility.

You don’t understand one tricks. Believe me when I tell you that it doesn’t matter if a 1 trick has 10 heroes or 1000 heroes to choose from. A 1 trick will not switch regardless as it’s not about the other options.

Isn’t the new DPS passive about saving the ultimate charge after the hero switch? I really doubt they will change the passive again to a completly different thing in the last minute

It wouldn’t surprise me considering the game grows more and more restrictive as time goes on.
Apparently, the devs can’t think of any other solution to problems than just straight up hitting the delete button.

Yeah but removing hero switching will add like 3x more problems in terms of balance. I’m not even talking about what happens if you get Hog, Bastion or Sym in your team for the whole match, but some heroes are completly countered by other heroes and you can’t change that easily. There is literally no way to be useful on Tracer(especially with damage nerf in OW2) if enemies run Brig + Torb, there is almost nothing you can do on Cree, Soldier or Widow against Winston+Genji etc.

Furia feels like the peel and heal warrior Brig should have been. Her stun is really fun and satisfying to land, but also easy to avoid if you’re paying attention. And I love that her healing increases attack speed. It just gives the fights some oomph when you really get into a rhythm.

I like both for the different styles they have going. I wouldn’t complain if Blizz copied Furia’s kit though. I think I like peeling primarily, lol. Put it on some form of waifu and I’m golden, lol.
