Because in my experience it is a throw pick. Rarely do I see a competent Doomfist on my team and they get shut down so easily.
He takes much more skill to get half the value of easier tanks. You can put 10 hours into Hog and be quite good, but youre still gonna be trash at doom 100 hours in.
And thats before all the techs
Doomfist is fine. Too often people give up based on hero selection, or after a lost fight or two. As long as you’re aware of how to support him then he’ll thrive, even in the hands of an average player.
Doomfist is, where 99% of the player base exists, mid.
He is feast or famine hero, playing against counters will want you to punch walls literally so…
He is not bad but needs to much patience a d discipline
Short answer - No. Long answer - wait for it, also No
For 99% of the playerbase, Doomfist is extremely hard to get value on individually and team-wise.
For the 1%, Doomfist is actually the better ‘agressive’ dive tank, but requires a team that plays fast and knows what they’re doing at all lol.
I’d say he’d be S-tier if it wasn’t for his glaring weakness (CC). He’s got sufficient HP, sufficient mobility, and sufficient damage (except for his, which ult is practically useless). I’d even say he’s got a little too much self-sustain, but even with it he can’t do anything against a counter pick.
Even if CC was removed though, it still wouldn’t magically make those bronze Doomfist players any betters.
Doomfist is fine. He just struggles from being a tank that most low rank teammates do not understand how to support. And at low ranks, they would rather cry than learn. So it’s kind of a fruitless effort.
He’s good he just requires way more experience and effort than what other tanks do like winston/dva behind the safety of a bubble/matrix.
Yes.
Just learn the hero, learn from other streamers, always learn from your mistakes, and have good game sense.
If you got a bad team, screw them and keep on grinding. Take breaks too if they’re some stupid speds.
It’ll be a pain, don’t get me wrong, just keep trying to learn Doom and don’t let anyone bring you down, do what you want to do that’s fun and don’t become a Meta Meat Rider or whatever. This is me speaking from experience.
(And dang, I wish I could swear but Blizzard is stupid and soft.)
IMO he’s good to get baseline value out of. He’s not incredible and also is not trash like some people make him out to be.
You can tell a very good Doomfist player from an average Doomfist player, and from a bad Doomfist player.
He’s mid for most of the playerbase IMO. Not too strong, not too weak.
doomfist can 1v6 WTF are you even talking about, he’s the most broken hero in the game next to Ball.
IF doomfist has a zen pocketing him he can be really strong but you gotta play him in and out in the match his defenses only last so long so you use them waiting for heals to top you off and then punch your way out if you have to get out. I feel like he is probably the hardest dive tank to play tho just because his manueverbility isnt as high as DVA or Ball its still good but not quite as good as theirs.
No, he’s bad easily countered.
Doomfist isn’t even bad, he’s legit broken if you play him right.
You just got to play around your sped counters and have a good coordinated team that’ll win you the match, simple as that. I know that because I play him right. I rather get value on a hard skill character than switch to the most overtuned dog pile of tanks that’s boring and unfun.
Even TrollDoubt speaking facts. Doom is not bad or horrid, the only time I remembered he was bad is when his punch didn’t punch a Mercy gliding a few seasons ago.
Screw this analogy and that analogy about matchups, if you play him right and do good most of the time to the point you’re helping your team benefit in winning by thinking what you could’ve done to help your team, you’re doing something better than most Doom mains.
(I wish I could swear on this platform but Blizzard is so soft, I swear.)
This is basically my answer. IMO Doomfist is actually very good, BUT he has such a high skill floor and also a very high skill ceiling so for most people he’s meh because he’s extremely hard to get the value out of. You can master other heroes in the time it takes you to get the base level value from Doomfist.
So he’s not good because the baseline to get the same value is higher than most other tanks
A tank like Winston is good because a lobotomite could pick him up and get value
Doom requires actual effort, so he’s mid. Doom’s numbers and stats are decent, but he’s twice as hard as Winston
That’s not exactly what I said. He is good if you know how to play him. Only the vast majority of people have never put in the time to learn him. It’s not like Mauga who anyone can just pick up and play expertly the first time
Eh, Winston is harder than that. He’s probably the 4th hardest tank. Doom is the 2nd hardest though.
Feels like when you get the DPS main flex queuing for challenges they just pick Doom since he used to be a DPS. Then play him like he used to, leaving the rest of the team without a tank to make openings.
