It’s more prominent at higher ranks. And actually Console has an epidemic of Xim, which is cheating. The devs did promise that they were working on fixing that but I’m not on console so I have no idea if they actually fixed it or not.
It’s a monsoon. You have to be blind or a cheater yourself to think that there isn’t a huge huge influx of cheaters joining the game lately. Gaslight till the end cheaters! Do everything you can cause THEY ARE COMING for your precious soon.
Like, it’s gotten so bad that even streamers are getting multiple games with different people cheating. Plus there’s that stupid website that, to my knowledge, hasn’t had any action taken against them for selling different types of cheats for overwatch. And a lot of people know about this website too, it’s not some secret knowledge! It’s disheartening to see a really cool game just turn into trash. Blizzard should do what Valve is doing with their cheater and bot problem
A lot of those people will gaslight you to the moon and back to protect their advantage. This is what they are doing now. They will die a metaphorical death before give up on protecting their cheats. Like children with a secret lollipop. Funny to see them go for it with no hesitation internally.
Like all things of this nature it won’t end well for them. The wheels are turning and I’ll along with many rejoice when they have to leave.
It’s crazy to see cheats being used on all heroes, like even heroes you think wouldn’t need cheats bc there’s either no aiming or shooting isn’t the primary action of that hero. Idc how bad people’s aim is, just put the time and effort into it and people would respect you more
it is def. a lot more common on pc from what i gather. that being said, its nowhere near as disruptive or rampant than in say cs2/csgo. overwatch is a game where anything but super blatant cheats can only get you so far without being able to kinda properly play the game. you might be able to play some divisions or even skill tiers above what you normally could pull off with wallhacks, triggerbots or other stuff. ive only seen one blatantly obvious cheater in my entire ow/ow2 lifespan. the other ones where rather low key (that got either banned mid round or later after reports).
Yes, by nature of how cheats work. But it’s also not a problem. Most people accused of cheating aren’t actually cheating
The issue is content creators make these videos where we view cheaters. And now everyone think they’re a pro at identifying cheaters.
Console has different kind of cheating issue when you get to higher ranks. People are using mouse and keyboard adapters, that give them the speed and precision of a mouse including aim assist. That’s like giving a PC player an aimbot when their crosshair get close to their target.
When it got detected those losers already made a bypass quickly.
I love how there are always some high-number comment players who come in as quickly as possible to shut down the cheat rumor. I mean smoke the blizz sausage harder.
I’ve seen it too. I leave ML7 and other streamers playing in the background while I’m working, and almost every day, one of them, while playing, not just cheat reviews but actually during playtime, runs into a cheater. If there’s that many in Top500 games, to that they can run into them routinely then there’s way more than you think there are. I leave kill cam on and run into a cheater at least 1 in every 10 games. They aren’t always hard aim botting; sometimes they are just wall hacking. I watch replay codes and report, when I can verify it.
So tell me, what are the %ages in this case?
And do you find them high or not?
From my personal experience? Maybe like 0.01% blatantly cheating, which I’m sure a ton of people are going to get mad about. I’m also not on the lookout and don’t really blame losses on cheaters so that definitely affects it.
so you acknowledge that cheating IS a problem. nice.
Cheaters happen
But the majority of players use it to cope with their lack of skill.
I play on PC and also rarely see cheaters, but I believe that there are probably people who have tons of them, given that there are tons of people who had leaver problems that I never had.
Not particularly, I do not believe it is a problem on console any longer which is why I said it does not matter.
The question was for Meiday because I’m not sure if he is aware of his tiny %age.
But yeah I agree with you, maybe a bit more but not that much.
last I played it tapered off some.
Compared to games like “The Finals” and “battlebit” where those games are obvious about 80% of people are using some sort of aim assistance cheat. (still).
It has unfortunately become quite common in the last few months.
Previously, I might see someone conspicuously cheating once every few weeks, now I run into that kind of thing almost daily.
It’s still not every game - probably something like 20% - but it is happening far more often than it should.
During prime hours, cheating isnt very prevalent. During the nightowl hours… they come crawling out of the woodwork.
