In their “justification” for locking new heroes behind battle pass, they are basically saying stuff like “don’t worry, most people don’t want to play the new heroes we create, anyway” and “the new heroes we make are basically pointless, you can do anything you want to do in the game without ever bothering to touch them”

Their justification is if you want the hero bad enough, you’ll pay. If you want the hero only a little bit, you’ll grind. If you don’t care about the hero much at all, you’ll just play normally and unlock it when you unlock it. If you want to try the hero but you’re impatient AND poor, then you can jump into the arcade and play her there for free.
They gave torb a wooden turret and mei pajamas, they are cool in my book.

Yeah, their logic is just transparently self-serving and doesn’t hold up at all.
“Oh, it’s actually fine for us to lock heroes, because most of you don’t want them anyway.” Makes zero sense.
