Based on what? The two tiny tidbits they showed off at BlizzCon? Youre going to judge an entire game, based on tiny snipets of an unfinished project, that is still in development? Really? Come on now. Thats ridiculous.
Look, im just as irritated about the fact that OW1 will be getting bugger all, while they are working on OW2. And, the fact that it probably wont release until a year or two from now, really sucks. It means we wont have much (new stuff) to do, for awhile.
Its frustrating and I get it. But, lets not judge the game until its actually finished and released. Okay? Okay.
Literally impossible. Did you miss the part where Overwatch 2 is an engine upgrade? Basically, they’re upgrading the core game engine so they can make stuff for OW2 they weren’t able to make in Overwatch 1. So You can’t release the content as episodic DLC because it won’t work on the current engine, and you can’t just release the engine now because that’s something that will keep evolving as they’re figuring out what they need from it as they’re making the content for Overwatch 2.
I get that the current drought is a bit of a pain, but it’s literally the only way this can be handled, and the game will be better off for it once this is said and done.
Wait, what? You want us to wait until a game is finished and released, before judging it?! Thats such a crazy idea, mate! Its just crazy!
(In all seriousness, though, I can’t believe people are already crucifying this game, before we even know more than 5 minutes of game play. Its insane. This thing is still in bloody development, yet people already have their pitchforks and torches ready. Wtf?)
maximum 4
We’ve missed out on a hero this November already, which everyone seems to have forgotten about.
The more time passes, the more heroes we would have just had anyway, making it pointless to argue you’re getting more heroes if the game doesn’t release within 2020
I love PVE modes so a logner version definitely has my attention.
Right now is the only character development Gency. At least, that’s how it feels to me.
I will gladly take any new character development other than Gency.
The writing has always been meh.
This is debatable.
We don’t know what we will get. There may be challenges or something like that. At least is there a leveling system so there’s that.
So basically everything Overwatch is doing with this Overwatch 2 is wrong? You know, people would give your post more merit if you stayed away from being so objective and opinionated in your post to the point where it just looks like an excuse to bash Overwatch. If you don’t like the game, leave.
I’m glad that these are the points you’re complaining about of all things, and it only shows how great this game is compared to other communites that are getting shafted by their devs, like Fallout 76 for example.
Vertical slice or not, making a game in 12 months is quite an achievement, especially for Blizzard and their stance on quality of their games. Even if it is 18 months, I still highly doubt Blizzard is capable of it. It takes them months for small balance patches, and we expect them to release a new game with 4 maps and heroes in one year?
Where did you get the idea it was made in two weeks? Jeff even said they have been holding stuff back from OW 1 to give to OW 2, which is likely to have started 2-3 years ago.
Honestly I was already very happy with Retribution. If they give us that, but expanded, I won’t complain. As long as the story development isn’t shallow. That remains to be seen.
Because the multiplayer will be the same? The graphical update, all new heroes and all new maps will be given to OW 1 for free and the PvP will be joined.
you are right when people showcase something to make them buy it, they usually show the worst they’ve got, that way… they ehh… will want to ehmm… not buy the game, and thats good because… then emm… hmm…
