It’s just … Everyone is like don’t put me in a box ! I do not abide to a certain category ! I’m an individual.
And then they go ahead and invent a billion different categories where they box themselves into. It’s the same thing with genders. Going full circle back to being defined by labels again. It is convoluted and annoying and only serves to further drive ppl apart.
this is so true…
they completely ruin the image for the lgbt community, most lgbt people just want to be like everyone else but the loud ones ruin it for everyone.
Straight and Asexual are part of the LGBTQ+ young grass hopper, if you identify with any sexuality or gender identity you are LGBTQ+. Also to those of you who think LGBTQ+ membership makes you special, it doesn’t you are the same as everyone else and if you try to say otherwise you are inadvertently promoting hate towards the community. Because you my friend are what is wrong with it.
I am part of the LGBTQ+, it doesn’t make you special or better than others. Learn your place in the world, because it is not above others simply because you just so happen to be part of LGBTQ+. You don’t get to dictate what belongs in the LGBTQ+ and what doesn’t.
What am I reading? Straight people are LGBT?? rofl
Begone with the condescension when you don’t know the literal definition of LGBT, and don’t put words in my mouth. Straight people are not LGBT just by virtue of being straight.
Just checking my responses on this account as I jumped on to post about something else, but you are 100% engaging in gatekeeping behaviour. Someone needs to inform you that you aren’t the be-all end-all of who belongs where, and which hardships are worse for which people.
LGBT isn’t the entire acronym, and asexuals of any stripe belong to the queer community, we (as a community) largely understand this, we also understand what exclusivity for no reason breeds based on how ‘other’ people are treated in greater society. We are here for each other and kind to one another despite our perceptions and opinions, and you’d do very well to grow into understanding that and why we behave this way.
You’re 100% entitled to your opinions, beliefs, actions, and words, and I’m likewise entitled to inform you that myself and many others think they are misguided/you have some growing to do on those still. I wish you luck with it.
Straight people represent LGBT, think about all the parents, brothers and sisters, friends and family that support the group. They’re definitely part of LGBT.
