Tbh for me the biggest thing I don’t like about LFG is that you’re expected to stay with your group for a few games and it’s just more personal than a role queue would be, and in LFG you have to check people’s profiles to make sure they’re your rank and that they actually play the role they want to play but with a role queue you wouldn’t have to do any of that. People just want an automated LFG cuz they’re lazy and anti-social lol myself included
LFG to me is more of a “looking for like-minded individuals” than anything else. I don’t feel like I win more games when I use LFG, but I definitely feel like those groups communicate more and they establish their goals up front. MUST USE COMMS. Or CHILL GROUP JUST PLAYING FOR FUN. Or RANKING UP BRING YOUR A GAME MUST USE COMMS.
I’ve met most of the people on my friends list by joining LFG groups so that is something.
LFG was doomed to fail so long as the stigma of stacks and private profiles exist.
People don’t want to group up when the community perception is that being in larger stacks makes games FAR more difficult, and the introduction of Private Profiles meant that it was doomed from the start.
Throw in the fact that the feature only works when a lot of people use it, and that ensured LFG would die faster than Lawbreakers. Which is a shame on both counts.
yeah, the LFG and Comp are a big dangerzone, and here’s why:
the LFG are usually microphone based (ie, they only want mic users).
mic comm groups are incredibly toxic when something goes wrong
LFG groups usually disband after the first loss
and, like you said, the MMR is completely confused when it comes to stacks like that
Would you agree that most LFG games with locked roles, are 2Flex-2Tank-2Healer, or actually 2-2-2, or 6Flex?
How did he not see this coming?
It takes too long to form a group, and the people that use it are usually very bossy and micromanaging people. And then the actual queue times themselves take longer than solo/duo queue. You also can’t tell what server you will be on before you get into a game and getting placed in servers far away was not fun.
People used it a lot initially because they wanted to play their designated role, but after a while it wasn’t worth it for the mentioned reasons.
LFG is worthless compared to an actual clan system.
You know, the system that should have been in the “team game” since day 1.
I will always remember how baffled I was to see that, unlike every other blizzard game, Overwatch has no clans.
And continues to have no clans!
I use it a lot for QP and I really love it.
I prefer that idea, with the option of:
- Flex-Flex-Flex-Flex-Flex-Flex
- Flex-Flex-Tank-Tank-Healer-Healer
🌟 [RoleQ] 2Flex-2-2 is the answer
With the option to also vote to unlock roles, and an autounlock if you have a Leaver.
Me n my girl don’t use it cause we dont have mics
The problem with lfg is that it takes a long time to set up or it takes a long time to find a group and after all that time and effort you get into a game and after the first loss the whole team quits the team as fast as they can.
So lfg has this mentality that they should all win 100% of their games or else everyone quits and the whole long process is started up again.
It’s all very clunky and a solo queue option would be much much better.
There’s also a fact that the solo queue button didn’t even work properly on console for a month-and-a-hlaf and you had to open your own profile to use it. Kinda weird to launch a broken item and wonder why no one used it.
In my experience the match maker takes way longer to find a match, which increases your waiting time exponentially. You can deal with that for 1 or 2 games but after that you lose the patience and go back to solo queue, especially if your team doesnt give you the feeling that your chance of winning increases.
LFG system is a fail, they need to add a general channel for that to work you know like WoW where people ask for things they need for example "Looking for main support (mercy/ana) or Off support " .
Other socials tools for that would be Guild system or a Role quee but i dont see any of that happening anytime soon, we need more ways to connecting with people to play this game.
LFG was a step in the right direction, but it didn’t solve any problems for me personally. I want the opportunity for both myself and my teammates to play the roles where we excel while also having a good comp. LFG failed to provide that because the people who entered my group had no interest in filling the roles for which they queued; they simply wanted to get in a 6-stack.
This isn’t Blizzard’s fault obviously but it does make the feature useless to me. Additionally I have no interest in playing in a large group.
They haven’t even start d developing one
I get your post, but don’t quite understand what you’re apologizing for…
Did you do something?
they just need to man up and lock 2-2-2
LFG is useless for players. It’s only good for low ELO player base. High tier players can’t even find other Grandmasters in that. You can find low Masters but that is about it.
LFG is also useless because people can leave your group and pick something else instead which is now throwing the game. Nothing you can do to stop them from doing that.
