I'm sick of the new accounts

shouldnt exist. Op is taking it too far, but there is no reason to have an alt account. The only one that you can make an argument for, is for “practicing a hero you dont play”. There are tons of other ways to do this without making an alt account and ruining some poor new players day.

If you are getting an alt for any other reason than practice, its not an alt, its a smurf, and you should be banned on both your main and smurf. Sadly that isnt possible.

That being said, matchmaking does need to be fixed, its crazy how messed up it is, tho in comp its fine.

This is why you don’t make a system where the bracketing starts from the middle. The system simply sees them as ~2300SR players while you’re about 2/10ths of the entire system above them and doesn’t see that as that big of a fluctuation. Those new players will then continue to lose a fair share of matches before they get to the bronze/silver. That’s why reportedly they had a massive problem at the start of OW2 with a massive influx of new players complaining about how they lose all the time. They had to fall off the ladder before they could start the climb, aplified by their anti-smurfing measurements. It’s so dumb

You don’t enjoy being matched with level 15 accounts that got endorsement level 1 and are very obviously cheating?

What a shame.

Oh, well in that sense… case closed(?)

i have 400 hours on wrecking ball and 900h playtime, is that enough?

:hamster::pray:

ok, let’s make this theory practical: let’s imagine that you can play with people who signed up exclusively at the same time you started playing. let’s say that there are 300 people in total. but realistically:

  • how many of these people would be able to play at the same time as you in a year, 5 years or 10 years and in the same gameplay hours as you?
  • How many of these people would speak your language or at least English to make themselves understood?
  • how many of these people have uninstalled the game due to changes in taste or have been banned over the years?
  • how many of these people would have completely different competitive ranks than yours?
  • and if you are almost all dps? imagine the eternal queue times until one of you decides to switch to be support or tank.

you understand that it is unrealistic due to a statistical problem to have exclusively people who have your exact gameplay experience.

HOWEVER… I think I would spread the feedback that Overwatch needs to seriously improve the training phase for new players and it is something we should ask for more often. if nothing else, raise the requirement a bit that allows smurfers to immediately access comp mode. or players who are too clumsy to immediately jump into a mode that they surely don’t know how to use yet.
