my win rate on the very very best of days is 10%. This means it’s mathematically impossible for me to gain more points than I lose.
What is the point of punishing players for losses? Just make it casual and fun for everyone.

If you’re losing that much, you’re ranked higher than you should be. Eventually you’ll drop rating to a point where you start winning about half your matches. That’s a good thing, and that’s where you want to be. The point of competitive isn’t to climb; it’s to play matches where everyone is of your rank.
that’s why it’s a Competitive Drive and not a Casual Drive.
It’s there to reward winning, not mindlessly grinding.
if you genuinely have a 10% winrate, you’re bonafide cursed by a witch or something and have bigger issues than some competitive points.
