Her main advantage is that shes absurdly mobile. This, in league and T500, is used to make her actually one of the better tanks in the game. Problem is, on ladder she absolutely sucks.
D.Va has received only buffs since Jun 19, 2019. Sigma was introduced in on Aug 13, 2019.
Given that double barrier only really took form around the end of OWL Season 2, it doesnât seem an especially direct cause and effect, to say the least.
I agree completely that D.Va needs buffs, but her nerfs probably did not âcauseâ double barrier. It seems more a case of specifically inferior synergies.
Sheâs not really any more mobile than Winston, though, let alone Ball? Jump Pack noticeably outdistances it on nearly the same cooldown, and with less wasted/vulnerable time in transition.

Youâre not wrong, but in owl shes used for mobility+midfield way more than Winston or hammond. Hammond is usually only used to contest point in OT lol

Do they play DVA much in OWL?
If so, they wonât feel the urgency to buff her or help her out.
Iâm pretty sure she even gains the HP of those she eats.
Lately? Pretty much only with Winston on KotH, and only where Zarya sees less value due to verticality or the like. Weâre seeing a lot more of her with Zarya out of the pool right now, but⌠thatâs only because Zaryaâs out of the pool.

DM can be busted if the range is really good and it has a lot of uptime.
That being said, any ability can be busted with certain interactions. Itâs hard to balance a hero who excels at not letting a huge part of the roster play the game (see: sombra). Hence why they tried buffing Dva recently without any DM range buffs. They donât want her to be oppressive and have 100% pickrate in OWL again. Hell, she was good on ladder too.

Itâs cause OWL doesnât like D.Va. Iâm not even joking this hero has been a DM bot for months and the only time she sees a peak in play rate is when the better tank option is banned. There is no other reason for her being this bad for so long and they buffed Hog so theyâre just trying to bury her at this point.
They buffed her recently, so theyâre at least trying. Theyâre just afraid to buff her too much and have her be hard meta again. Theyâll probably try buffing DM a fair bit next time.

They can only her on 3 spots: Damage, DM or survivability (armor / hitbox).
Damage is actually quite okay, she doesnt need to reload, but paired with the missiles, she can dish out a nice amount of damage. So i dont think thats gonna happen.
The DM nerf made her obsolete, reverting it would be the most plausible choice.
Armor dVa back then was busted and she was solo-ing her counters (lol). However her critbox could be looked into ⌠although i dont see that happening.
So i guess, its gonna be her DM, her bread and butter which should be reverted. That would make spam heroes less painful to walk into chokes and also makes good dVa players standout from bad ones.
DM was even that busted to begin with, it had some clear weaknesses, why does everyone make DM look like this god like ability that eats every single ultimate in the game, all it needed was a tiny nerf not the joke that we have today.

Get rid of micro missiles
Because DM was absolutely that busted. She had the highest pickrate in OWL for years. She was always a good pick in GM, and viable alongside Zarya on most of ladder. Like, DM is bad now, but it was 100% busted a while back. A good Dva back then shut down a lot of the cast, especially DPS players.

I said was, like, back when she was also OP in OWL. Obviously sheâs not great now.
She was off-meta on ladder in periods that she was still played in OWL.
