And then I’d add you basically hold Ult for aggressive teamplay by the enemy. Lots of times I never even use it. Really has it’s highest value in OT zoning, so learning to not get baited or prematurely firing it is the key.
And when you do that, enemies who know you have it are kept in a state of paranoia. Especially in the metal ranks where they only understand countering Ultimates with Ultimates instead of using them for aggressive pushes.
Can’t count how many Zen/Lucio enemies held their Ult in fear of Torb Ult and basically hard threw because I never used it.
Which is the exact reason people play hitscan. Why bother putting in the effort into playing literally any other DPS when you can play hitscan and contribute three times as much for a fraction of the effort?
I mean I’m mid-rank but the answer to your question is:
I’m not.
I do however, have pretty bad arthritis in both hands, and it’s worse in my right hand which means that my aiming hand will sometimes shake which makes finepoint precision difficult if I’m having a flareup. Pharah works well for me because I am able to turn and aim at where I know they are going to be instead of having to hit them in that specific space and time. With hitscans if I am having a flareup, my hand is tense and swollen and very painful and not as accurate.
I do, however, play Ashe quite a bit on my good days, and with 52 percent scoped accuracy I’d say I can do okay.
Plus, as a fan of the ORIGINAL Mandalorians from the Star Wars expanded universe, Pharah is just more fun.
Here’s the problem though. Gamesense falls apart below, say plat. You can be in the perfect place all the time, and lose because your team is all over the map. That’s why heroes like Hog and soldier are so prevalent. They can do it all themselves. there is a reason I find diamond games 2x times easier than plat ones. And gold games are imo, much harder than either of those ranks.

If I wanted to play hitscan…I would play Apex Legends… where hitscan is done better and has more variety.
Just, How? U’ve played for years and no improvement? Jesus. I almost feel sorry for you.
So do I. Though to be fair I only started on PC about 6 months ago and only ever do placements, no attempts to actually climb have been made. On console I also only did placements and only in season 24 through 26. But I’ve still been playing hitscan dps in QP and arcade since 2016.
That’s why those threads that say “it’s so easy to climb, anyone can do it! Just pick the right heroes!” annoy me so much. Because no. Not everyone can climb. Everyone is different. Some people peak low and won’t ever improve, no matter the hero they pick. Just like in real life, some people can easily excel at something and others can’t.
