The worst part is, every stadium player including myself was pumped for this new season. They sprung bo5 on us without any notice. Killed the mode. I rather play Junkensteins Revenge on repeat than comp stadium with bo5. What were they thinking.

played my first stadium game in like 2 seasons. the draft pick almost feels longer than the match itself with bo5. it took sooo long and we just 3-0’d them instantly after. draft pick feels like such a waste of time and very obviously only exists due to zarya/ana hard countering other characters/comps without suzu.
bo5 just doesnt feel right. i only stopped playing stadium due to how they massacred what made mercy fun in stadium, not bc of bo7. being able to get a power on round 2 isnt worth losing bo7.
still dont understand why they unfairly destroyed mercy yet add sojourn of all characters to stadium. if you rush the purple crit dmg item you just one shot squishies on repeat if you get 5-10% additional wp. i got like 20k cash in the first round and was one shotting by round 2, the extra money you get with bo5 just doesnt feel right or very earned. i reeaalllyyy dont understand the stadium devs

My friend came back to the game because of the Stadium. We had geat time last season and they did WHAT? Our mood was ruined when we found out… we LOVED long stadium and long fights. We had time to build our carachters and think about strategy and now it all went to hell, why do we need the second quick stadium mod? Gods…

Bo5 will only benefit whoever picks the overpowered heroes like Sojourn and Soldier, since those heroes are the hardest to build against and the easiest to build without having to sacrifice anything.
Other heroes, and specially non-hitscan DPS, dont have a singular overpowered build and struggle more at adapting against the overpowered DPS.

Nah just get rid of Stadium QP, revert to 7. There are enough modes out there for screw-around trolls that want to ignore the team, gameplay mechanics and the objective, Stadium QP was a terrible mistake.

Long queue times are to rectify poor matchmaking. I am also a high mmr support, so I’m another player with the longest queue times. When I play with my brother, who is maybe silver, my queue drops dramatically while his instant queue becomes a wait (and we, obviously, just can’t group up together in comp to begin with, though we could in stadium until last season and this pattern still held true). This is to try to fit us together, but that’s a tall ask. It is only these games where I am queuing with someone significantly under my own rank that the matchmaking quality could be described as “poor,” but that makes sense considering our gap. My queue times even go down. But when I queue solo, in ranked where match balance is prioritized, I have a wait. On support, I have a much longer wait. But the quality of my matches is very rarely lopsided.
You’re definitely right that long queue times + bad matchmaking = people don’t want to play. But I haven’t experienced that, and I’m one of the players with the longest queue times by far (outside of the high rank GM/champ ranks pretty much, and that’s bc there’s so few of them).
I preferred BO7, but I’m not finding BO5 to be that bad. It’s certainly not as bad as when they got rid of mirroring!
I typically main Moira and I’ve not had a BO5 game where I’ve been able to get my all purple build yet, but I’m only a few thousand off and if it’s happening to me, it’s happening to other players as well.
The potential for comebacks is definitely still there; my first game tonight we went from 2-0 down to winning 2-3.
The queue times have definitely been shorter for me. I made it to All-Star rank in the previous seasons and late at night I’d be waiting maybe 8-12 minutes for a game, but tonight I’ve been getting games in 2-5 minutes, solo queuing on support.
Sure but it’s Friday of week 1. Whatever numbers people are seeing now, expect these queues to be the shortest of the season. As the weeks go on, the queues will go up again (at least for supp – there’s significantly more of us playing the game)
I hate these changes. No one asked for them.
