Pretty much this, I’m sure they wanted to play Lucio and you picked Mercy who can only really keep up one target at a time.
Why are they in the wrong if you didn’t want to swap either?

you have failed the vibe check mercy player, you no longer are illegible to get a Spotify premium subscription. if you already have one its getting taken away and donated to a reddit lucio in need
It is interesting how the higher you go the less healing you need to be doing to be effective on Lucio. You can go at nearly as low as 5k heals per 10 in some gm games and still be rolling the enemy.
Plat players play too slowly so you never get to be as aggressive as you need to be in a lot of situations. Teammates standing in choke for 4 mins on 2cp and ignoring every single amped speed boost you give rein comes to mind. And then complaining about lack of heals, gotta love that one.
They will eventually plateau their Reddit Lucia skills and win/lose 50% once they reach the plateau so that it “seems” like it’s working but they will hard stuck themselves
No you’re not supposed to abandon your team for the entire match to get environmental kills. If you’re not speed boosting/healing or peeling for your team and you solo SB etc you’re being useless. Reddit Lucio is throwing.
Reddit’s will tell you that “healing isn’t good” with Lucio and its okay to play that way because they provide so much value while Redditing
Can’t stop won’t stop.
I don’t think Lucio was the problem here. I would suggest to look more towards Bap at the character selection screen.
Yes, Mercy heals, but she heals slow and one person and doesn’t add a lot of value besides that. The only reason to be on Mercy is to damage boost a dps character. Staying on Mercy is just a big of a throw as the Lucio feeding his brains out.
I would have reported both of you tbh, im tired of mercy/lucio in my ranked games
Maybe in high ranks where having a Lucio with Rein is non-optional. But Lucio doesn’t even hit top 3 most played supports until masters so I doubt it’d stop Rein being played below there.
Pretty much this. Imo if you have a Rein and you already have a Lucio, it is the other support’s job to pick something that actually goes well with the Rein and Lucio, like Bap or Ana, heck even Moira would be better.
Mercy OTPs love to sit on their high horse complaining about Lucio OTPs when they’re probably more avoided than them.
As annoying as playing against him can be, Lucio is often the 3rd dps.
If reddit frog is constantly keeping attention from 1,2 people, drawing abilities, time, or getting the odd pick- then they’re doing their job. Your team won’t require as much resources if they aggress at the same time.
Thats a gold-plat classic LOL
Also, im pretty sure redshell didnt “throw” his way to 4.6 during poke meta, reddit lucio absolutely works, you need to learn when to go and when to stay back.
Reddit Lucio is the hardest playstyle to pull off, but it also gets the most value (in a solo queue environment). You just gotta play around it, pick a support that isn’t mercy because there is no synergy there, and go aggressive with Lucio
I only do it on Ilios Well. Nothing else. Oh and only arcade/quickplay. Never competitive.
I mean, reddit lucio is a completely valid way of climbing, and ladder rewards more individual play styles /shrug
Perhaps mercy was the incorrect pick if you were going to need to sustain multiple people on your own
Rightfully so. I am not saying it´s your fault, surely Lucio feeding is his fault, but you are part to be blamed too. If my other support goes Lucio and there is not enough heal, I just switch from Mercy to Ana or anything else. Mercy/Lucio is combo, that works only sometimes. If one support is moron and throws the game, it´s up to you to pick up something better than Mercy to support your team. I´ve learned this when people love to pick Zen.
Lucio is not a 9hp/second aura slave.
I blame Lucio’s lack of feedback when it comes to Supporting. It’s very easy to tunnel vision otherwise. He needs a tune-up for better feedback and, of course, a tiny buff to his AoE.
I still have no idea why they went from 30m to 10m instead of a much more reasonable 30m to 15m.
