So this is how it looks like when a hero has a 56% winrate across all ranks.

Alright, just don’t come up to me crying that this game is being ruined by its developers. I’ve still got other games that are being supported not every 6 months and got better events that don’t repeat themselves.

Your arguments are not clear though.

Saying something is ā€œanti funā€ is incredibly subjective.

Saying someone is an ā€œanti skillā€ hero also isn’t clear either. It’s a made up and muddy way to define a hero.

And is there some sort of equation that I’m missing where every hero should have an optimal impact on the game based on x units of skill needed to play them? Your whole last point is again, also subjective.

Your arguments aren’t clear at all, they are all based off of your own emotions and opinions.

To be fair, Winston is part of dive.

Antifun is very simple though. McCree flash is fun. It requiers as much skill to land it on Tracer that Tracer to dodge it. You have a mind game around it. Making the counterplay possible.

As for the impact again it is very simple. The harder the character is to play the more potential impact you should have. This is the simple way to balance a game, becaue if the hardest character gives less potential rewards then it is a waste of time for the player to play it, for the designer to design it.

Mercy for example should be overall less effective than Ana even if it is very slightly less effective. That way you have a clear progression. When you start you are not good and play the easier of the two. once you get better and want to maximize you effectiveness you play the harder character.

Mcree’s flash is fun is an opinion. Your opinion at that. Fun is subjective and differs from person to person.

There are varying degrees on harder to play and this game was never designed to function that way cause the fact ults exist kinda dulls that point cause even on most mechanical heavy heroes pressing a single button that impacts your kill ratio is not what I would call skill.

Ana is a high skill hero but don’t act like she was not ridiculous at one point that she was a must pick.

I agree in the spirit of the skill but it would be bad balance if moderate, low skill or whatever never had a shot to be competitive in the game.

The current problem with the game is a lot of heroes no reason to pick them cause they suck. And I wouldn’t want this game to turn into high mechanical skill or bust cause it gets boring like any other meta that limits the hero pool.

As much as we hate DF, at least he requires skill to play.

Brig does not.

No matter how balance the game gets, you always gonna have a specific 6 man comp that is tiny superior to the rest and that is going to be your meta and the only thing played in tournament.

As far as ranked is concerned we need to have softer counter than Brigitte so that a character like Tracer could be made difficult to play but not completly denied.

Yes and I never said she was always perfect. But she is suppose to be the best main healer. As McCree should be the best at dueling flanker. Brigitte is the best to dual flanker, but also the best at pushing throw the frontline and allows the creation of composition where not a single DPS is picked aka Goat.

Could you guys really say that Goats is funnier than dive meta? Is a game where a whole category becomes obsolete well balanced?

You need to go and update yourself. Goats/double sniper are no longer the only viable comp and we are in era in of never seen beforw diversity vs dive when 7 heroes were viable

You are an ABSOLUTE JOKE if you think 7 heroes were viable during dive meta. You know nothing about this game if you think that. If you look at when brig was released there was literally only 7 heroes viable(rein Zarya widow brig zen mercy and hanzo)

Fixed the post. You were missing something.

See it’s not though, because I wouldn’t call McCree’s stun fun. So in this case who is right? Whos definition of fun is correct, yours or mine? The correct answer is nobody’s because fun ant anti fun is subjective, see where I’m going with this?

So with this way of balancing though it would be a waste of time for players to play easier characters since they could never have as big of an impact as harder to play characters by design. It would also be a waste of time for the designer to design an easier to play character since they would be inherently disadvantaged. This also seems like a great way to have stale, boring mirror metas since both teams would be playing the same 6 hardest to play characters since they would inherently have the biggest impact and be the best.

You need to go back and check pick rates in towards top and pro play and come back. Or go to winston lab --> OWL --> Check Stage 2 Pick rate (dive time) --> Check Stage 4 (brig introduced).

And then realize that your mains are hindering your ability to judge balance.

Wow that not only escalated quickly, you revealed all your cards and lost the argument gamešŸ˜‚

I’m in the pro-Brigitte camp and your argument is still flawed.

I’ve heard of this but what exactly is ā€œGoatā€?

Locking this up as it is not constructive.

Thanks.
