What about the people who insta-lock dps, see that they need something else, and then swap off the dps before the match starts? You’re generalizing a lot for no real reason and this post isn’t gonna reach your target audience.
so why do you think you are a selfish dps instalocker when you are not even playing the game anymore? the problem certainly rised in the last 2 seasons…
You can’t change roles. For example, if you queue as tank you can only change within the tank role. You can’t change from tank to dps or dps to tank ect.
So then my options are
A. Find a new game
B. Wait 20 minutes simply because I play DPS
C. Play a role I’m terrible at and don’t like to play, practically soft throwing in the process, just so I can play the game seriously

Guys don’t listen to this OP.
Always play the role you’re most confortable with. Flexing to something you’re bad at lowers your chances at winning the match.
I’d rather heal for 3 DPS than one of those DPS being a reinhardt who feeds hard as they don’t know how to play him.
I understand that. But he’s saying those people right now who instalock dps. And I’m asking about those people right now because he’s talking to those people and telling them they can quit when it shows up.
Its not about being wrong, you can be wrong, there is nothing bad about that, and i am personally wont mention it to anyone who were on the wrong side of the arguement but kept it civil. But as i mentioned, he wanted me to remind him.
They will have to adapt and accept longer queues, change roles, or quit. Life isn’t fair. They want to be the super star dps, they now have to be dedicated. It’s what it took to be a dps in an mmorpg when you are competing for a dps slot for any guild, especially a good guild. Otherwise, they are free to play quickly with all it’s faults and advantages. Make no mistake, qp will not be the focus of balance in the game if qp remains the same.
Luv, You’re being very rude. They play DPS because that is the role they enjoy playing, it’s not about being some elitist, it’s the fact THEY LIKE PLAYING THAT ROLE, jeez!
Like I love playing support and you love playing the role you play. We’re not doing it to be SuPeR StaRs we’re playing the roles we like because they arE FUN.

well it is YOUR choice to only play dps… you are the one who decides to be inflexible. also you don’t know if you will need to wait 20min… and if you really want to play it then you have to deal with it or find another games, yes… i play dead by daylight killer… its the most fav role to play therefore i’m having queue times 10-45min depending on the time … i could go play surivor and get instamatches but i choose not to and therefore its fine for me and others… i do not complain about this unlike certain individuals on the forums.
also its not a excuse to say “i’m bad at it,…” with role SR you will play on the rank where you belong against people who are on your level so it does not matter anyways…

So you’re just okay with ostracizing and punishing all DPS players because they like to play a popular role? they have no control over what they find fun and trust me many have tried other roles and heroes and found them unenjoyable. You assume all DPS are toxic “sUpEr StArS” because some are thats generalizing and thats the exact mindset that leads to Racism, Homophobia etc.

Are you serious? stop treating them bad just because they like playing DPS. Of course DPS will have the HIGHEST amount of players, do you see how many heroes there are in the damage slot compared to other roles? Why should they quit the game just because they enjoy playing a role that you don’t like?
that’s how it was always in WoW. Either play tank and get party in 6 seconds or be dps and wait hour
unless you’re close enough in rating to other roles and someone else also is, in which case they could implement a system to swap roles with other people. Only if both of your ratings are close enough though, otherwise it would be wildly imbalanced.
That went out the window, when this game primary focus is OWL. Look you want to play dps fine, you can play it all you want in QP, probably with a low queue. However, if you want to dps in competitive, then you have to play by the same rules as the professionals play.
It’s in the best interest of OWL. This isn’t about the player base. It’s establishing rules like any sport. Similar decisions were made in real sports in order to streamline the the sport.

if i would say “if you play dps… i will throw the game”… that is a treat… which i’m not doing. if he dislikes the longer queue times and therefore the game he can either deal with it or play another game… this is called being rational.
