You ever heard of the battle of Agincourt? LOL - English longbow men totally destroyed a greater number of French fully armoured mounted knights from great range!
We’re taking about a fictional sci-fi bow - in reality modern composite bows can theoretically deal HUGE damage, almost in line with a .22 rimfire at close range. But yeah, he should have drop-off. Having said that, Longbows were fired in a way that used gravity to assist damage, by firing them up and in a steep arc. Interesting argument.
Grapple was reduced to 8 seconds, charge time was reduced, venom mine was given the infrasight bonus and had its cooldown reduced. For a time she was rather better numerically than she was now, but still performed worse. The environments have changed a lot around her.
And the biggest change to that environment was when Brigitte was instroduced. Even now, Brig still makes Winston and D.Va harder to get value out - two of Widow’s strongest counters incidentally.
Agree 100% on Mei, and I have about 300 hours on Mei and am decent with alt-fire. I have no issue with reversion of the drop-off. That being said… what matters is how impacting those abilities are, less about “consistency”. She still does massive damage at ranges that those same characters deal 95% of their damage in… and then gets to do more at greater accuracy further out… I think you are maybe overlooking that point.
Zen should be a competitive sniper… I mean, its his reason for existence even in the Support line up. Ana’s just a whole other order of problems in one… but she doesn’t one shot does she?
I’m having a very, VERY hard time to see how Brigitte - who has been reduced to a back-line fighter - has any impact on D.Va and Winston’s ability to counter Widow. Brigitte stopped divers. Doesn’t mean she renders D.Va and Winston incapable of doing anything against Widow. Both of those 2 tanks have the capability to stay way away from Brigitte, since as far as I know (despite the forum’s attempt on making Brigitte out as a Rambo), she can’t climb walls.
Also, try to compare Widow’s patch-notes to other heroes - like Mercy per example. No, Widowmaker hasn’t had any too many changes to her since release.
If my projectiles “need” falloff damage just because she has it, then surely Widowmaker’s shots “need” to start physically falling and being less accurate to her aiming reticle after a certain distance, no?..
I mean you can spam with hit scan to, I mean you acting like every hero that uses projectiles is unaimable and requires the player to win through luck alone.
I agree with OP – if Blizzard is going to standardize range fall off into Widowmaker, they should standardize range fall off into all heroes, hitscan and projectile. It’s only fair.
torb already has arrow physics on his primary and the fact that it is a projectile means you most likely are not hitting those long range shots withthem anyway.
Hanzo Maybe needs some long range tuning but that depends most on how the other hitscans play out.
mei already has a delay on alternate fire.
Zenyatta is a maybe but mostly just on his altfire if anything.
Genji? I mean he already is doing poke damage at that distance, with the fact that his projectile is split up three ways.
