OP, I think that you need to stop thinking that āādevsāā decide balance and that they are incompetent. I am sure most ACTUAL balance devs have know for years that Widow is a problematic design.
Its the corporate in charge the ones that decide to keep Widow (and Tracer) as they are for reasons that arent balance. Not your rank and file developer.

Yeah, Genji and Tracer were the original DPS Widow counters, and they still are. But now sheās also countered by several tanks and Kiriko. Iāll stop her easier with Kiriko than any version of Sombra. I can climb up to her and be literally invincible while two-tapping her.
because u play in a rank where genji actually works against widow, and thats below plat, hence, skill issue is why you do not understand how this hero is OP

I mean, I think we can fairly say she is weaker with some objectivity. Sheās rocking just shy a 42% win rate in GM (according to overbuff) currently. The best players are struggling to find value that translates to wins with her.
Like, we can argue about stealth being a crutch or whether she ever actually countered Widow at high ranks, but ultimately sheās genuinely pretty weak right now.
Dude. Idk. I personally think that a lot of people still havent made adjustments. Sure, shes weaker, but not by much. You play her right, you are still mostly invisible. And if you are moving from cover to cover, you will almost never be seen unless you want to be.
I think most high ranks players have already adjusted. I just donāt think the data supports what youāre saying at this point. It has been a few weeks now, so itās possible players even in GM have not adjusted yet. But I also think enough time has passed where it seems very unlikely to me that is the case.
Iām trying to keep my argument grounded by her performance as objectivity as I can (because letās face it, it can be difficult to not be biased against Sombra since sheās annoying). Can you show or provide me another reason explaining her low performance? No worries if not, but Iām not convinced by GM players being unable to adapt with the time given.
Small edit: Just my personal opinion, I think that adjustment period already happened. A few days after the changes she was sitting at a 28% win rate. I was having this discussion with another poster at the time, and I was definitely more open to the idea that people needed to adjust. And I think they were right, her win rate shot up over a few more days to 41%, where it has since stagnated for the past week or so. Just context for what Iāve seen so far anyways
Thats fine. No i dont really have evidence for what im saying outside of personal experience playing her. I do think her effective range should be extended by likeā¦ 10ft. But i like where shes at right now. I no longer feel guilty for playing her. Could she use some work? Sure. I just dont think the issue is nearly as big as people are trying to make it out to be. I think they got so used to playing the only role that was in spectator mode, that they dont know how to adjust.

Totally heard, Iāve had similar feelings before with characters I play more frequently so I do understand where youāre coming from.
I think both can be simultaneously true, because I can definitely see how someone used to playing Sombra and not having to engage much with vision for over a year with perma stealth can struggle with her current iteration. But I also think at the same time, she might also genuinely just be weak right now.
I think the hack could be quicker too. Just because now you want to be in and out really quick. I could see on high brackets, it leaves you open. But im not sure.

Yeah, personally I have no clue what the right direction for her is. Then again, I also liked when health packs used to give ult charge in OW1 and wish they gave her more supportive options outside of silence xD. I just donāt play her enough to really know what the right move for her is.
