Same, it’s honestly gross. I go on Twitter and see tons of Genji OTPs with anime pfps saying it’s ok that he’s OP because he “Deserves to be dominant in the meta” since he’s been “bad for so long” and “is the highest skill hero in the game”.
They know he’s OP, they think it’s fine, and they don’t even try to hide it. It’s disgusting.
At least multiple GM streamers and players have tweeted saying how busted he is including Cavalary, Samito, Frogger, GaleAdelade, etc.

Make Mercy use dual weapon during Valkyrie. That sounds totally fun. Healing and damage boosting team while you take down enemy widow and phara.

Resurrect would also have to take less time to cast in order for it to be comparable to the level Genji got buffed. 4 buffs at once was clearly them trying to save OWL, balance be damned.

It’s not about Genji. U can’t even compare the number of impact that Genji can do on the battlefield and Mercys “mm gotta res 1 man after regroup”. At least to be comparable to other heals lul.

Still, it’s very difficult to get value out of at all, and if you are extremely lucky you will only get about 6 rezzes off in a single match, i really think they should just remove it because it’s clear it really doesn’t help her at all.
Rez is
- Entirely team reliant.
- Makes you a stone for two seconds
- Makes it so you can’t heal or damage boost while casting.
- You can’t even escape it once you activate it.
- Is on the longest cooldown in the game.
and what is the positive for all those downsides? bringing a teammate back, which is entirely dependent if that player is actually good.
A mobile healer should not have that much of a clunky ability, maybe give her a burst heal ability as replacement for Rez, but honestly, Rez is not that big of a ability everybody claims it is. People just can’t figure out how to camp a body for 6 seconds if you know Mercy is on the other team.

Deflect doesn’t do anything until someone reacts to it and attempts to shoot at Genji. Obviously there are ways to bait attacks and force targets into attacking a deflecting Genji in the same way attacking Zarya with her barrier up. But by itself, Genji isn’t threatening anyone while Deflect is active and being able to cancel it just puts the ability on cooldown.
Aint no one is saying he team wipes every fight. But he almsot always gets 3 (unless hes a dolt). Which (anywhere above plat) is an automatically lost teamfight.
Btw this is semi-off topic and it was just a QP game but I… with zero experience on Genji… played Genji in a QP game. I didnt know the slash-dash technique for blade so i climbed a wall and dropped on the enemy support and slashed them until they died. My Ana nano’d me and i slashed 2 more people. Got POTG for it. Enemy team said ‘I dont think my team knew what to do with a Genji who stood still with blade because we somehow let him kill 3 of us and he didnt move.’
That was before his buffs though, but i always laugh when people gloat about how much skill it takes. Aim? Hardly. Blade takes the same amount of aim Brig’s flail takes. Dashing isnt hard either. Target priority is a concept 80% of the characters in the game requires. And monitoring the enemy teams cooldowns (again) is something most of the cast does. If you put an hours worth of practice in on dashing/slashing, literally anyone could do well.
A bad player will still be a bad player on him. But someone whos smart WILL climb because currently his kit IS OP. Theres no denying that. It happens top any OP hero. They become OP and people who know how to exploit OP heroes will climb.
