The same HPS with just different ways to heal. That would be the best thing that happen to Overwatch … The diversity you would have with being able to play the support you want because its just the mechanics that would be different.
That is sort of how the game started out, but it gets complicated when you factor in aim and AoE aspects. Arguably, heroes like Moira and Baptiste for the power of their AoE healing possibly should never have been released.
Since those heroes we have never once had another AoE support like them.
Should we give all damage the same DPS, just with different ways to deal damage?
Ya no that is a terrible idea.
Lets say for a example every support has 50 HPS from primary fire (im ignoring abilities and ults for simplicity)
So heroes like zen and mercy who have single target no aim healing will always heal 50 HPS.
Where heroes like ana or juno who have the ability to miss can only heal 50HPS if 100% aim, so in reality they have far less healing.
And then heroes with AOE healing like moria, lucio, bap, have 50 HPS per person so if healing 5 people thats a total of “250 HPS” where single targets are only getting 50 or less total.

No. Easy way to make the aim-based heroes dumpster tier + Weaver because he has to charge up to a 50 heal blossom.
Plus Brig has AoE healing and her auto-aim armor packs. Let’s not make Brig the most powerful support again lol

AoE healing on a cooldown is not the same as the sheer constant output of moira/baptiste on a primary fire. Though they both have powerful AoE cooldowns as well.
Which is why Im excluding ana, kiriko, mercy. Lucio, etc.
Well they need to hit all their shots then… Others support should not be penalized just because someone cant hit all their shots…
Every support should do the same HP. Because if they can hit 100% of their shots NOW they are doing MORE
AOE healing would be split between how every many you heal in the Area
How do we give every support the same functional HPS while factoring in things like AOE healing, missed shots, downtime, antiheals/dps passive, etc?
First off you dont factor in missed shots. Dont reward misses. (Just dont miss)
Second you give them say 50hps and that is divided by however many people they heal in an AOE.
Dont need to factor in downtime, because its just 50hps across the board.
Anti healing is not healing so not a factor.
